I’ve got that giddy, can’t-sit-still energy again, and for good reason.
We’re in the thick of pushing a major milestone for NomNom Express and I’m buzzing to share what’s coming to life with the test level. This isn’t just another delivery run… this is chaos on wheels, wrapped in spicy snacks, alien ambushes, and glorious mini-game mechanics designed to thrill (and slightly terrify) in all the right ways.
Let’s dive into what’s cookin’:
This test build is where the vibe of NomNom Express truly is coming alive. Think tight corners, neon-drenched city routes, towering buildings, and a delivery timer that doesn’t mess around. Every second counts to complete your deliveries and get to the end of your shift to reap your rewards in points and tips.
We’ve added:
Skid & Slide mechanics that let you drift around corners like an absolute legend.
Kick & Punch attacks to fend off anything trying to claw at your food stash.
And yes… you can now lob your inventory (hurl piping hot pizza, or taco nunchucks) to knock back creatures on your tail. Tactical? Hilarious? Both.
There are the obvious speed boosts for 8 seconds of ludicrous pedalling power
Power jumps that launch you over moons to dodge herds of beasties
And not forgetting aerial-based trick combos for that extra flair and TIPS multipliers.
Also – GamePad support is in. Controls feel smooth, tight, and ready for arcade action. Stick to throttle. Shoulder buttons to kick and punch. B for slides. Y for jumps, X for speed boosts and A for throwing deliveries at your opponents… It feels so right, and I’ve been playing in this test area for hours adding sounds, and spot effects to make it feel richer.
Each food item you deliver now has a unique heat, weight, and risk/reward potential. As well as your typical takeaway items, we have some super special extra deliveries or custom orders to challenge you. These aren’t your usual takeaways—these are meals designed for speed, drama, and Hangry street cred.
Planet Pepperoni – A levitating, lava-hot pizza that trails steam and causes splash damage when thrown.
Greens of Glory – A veggie burger with so many stacked layers it obscures your view while riding.
Sushi Shuriken™️ – Individually wrapped maki rolls that double as projectile weapons.
Dragon Wok Delight – A Classic Chinese dish with glowing noodles that attract nearby enemies if left unwrapped too long.
TacoNova 3000 – A space taco with unpredictable heat levels. Explodes in bursts of glitter and spice when thrown.
The rarer the item, the bigger the payout—but also the bigger the challenge to deliver it intact.
In replacement of the previously touted FOOD token (Which will still have its place as the platform currency), we have a reward for surviving each delivery gauntlet! Introducing TIPS… the in-game rewards currency with real purpose. These tokens let you:

Every badge unlocks cosmetic gear and unique animations. And yes, you’ll be able to flex your status in style on the global leaderboard.
