SETHIX-QR Labs: from Interface Penetration to Emergent Propagation

Interface penetration is the core operational mechanism of transmedia sculptural systems—amorphous, cloud-based, biopsychosocial art-organisms that refuse localization, totality, or anthropocentric readability.

It describes how a primary agent-object ... infiltrates, binds to, and transmutes any substrate it encounters, whether physical (gallery, environment...), digital (website, NFT, .jpg file...), or archival (narrative strand...).

SETHIX-QR Labs: Emergent Propagation is a new digital sculpture series / NFT artwork released under the broader SETHIX-QR schema. It functions as an experimental mystical cybernetic network exploring AI-driven emergence, techno-occult systems, and cyborgian metamorphosis.

SETHIX-QR Labs treats art as a shape-shifting, parasitic networked-organism that penetrates different media and substrates, resisting localisation or finality.

Emergent Propagation is both a specific NFT contract and a conceptual node in a larger, evolving cyber-gnostic system — deliberately slippery, ambitious, and built for long-term persistence beyond any single platform. It is available/accessible via OpenSea and Etherscan (verifiable on-chain).

Building on the concept of Interface Penetration first developed during the production of [Rare Earth Sculptures] Lutetium, 2017, the SETHIX-QR Schema:

  • Bagan as Photoshop collage (often after altered states (SETHIX-QR GRiDS))

  • Was AI-regenerated and mutated (SETHIX SYSTEMS - QR MATRiX [Enhanced])

  • Subjected to video morphs (UNDULATING MASS: Systems Morphology)

  • Then transformed into 3D models (Emergent Propagation)

  • Nodes Get rendered in white-cube fantasy galleries

  • Minted as on-chain smart contracts (Ethereum + Arweave permanence)

  • Can propagate into virtual worlds, metaverses, or further media

  • Or even physically fabricated via reverse-seed funding

The idea is not to produce a fixed, final “object” but a parasitic, shape-shifting system that penetrates different interfaces and substrates. The sculpture is the network and the process itself — not any single manifestation.

SETHIX-QR adds techno-gnostic, cyber-occult, and AI-parasitism layers (machines feeding on human/consciousness substrates), to the earlier post-internet and new materialist explorations I developed throughout the 2010's, but the underlying methodology — transmedia penetration and metamorphosis — is consistent. It’s the same strategy discussed in Cadence Kinsey's book "Walled Gardens: Autonomy, Automation, and Art After the Internet," now accelerated by consumer AI tools, crypto infrastructure, and esoteric Knowledge.

From Interface Penetration to Emergent Propagation

Core Attributes of Interface Penetration

  • Flattening & Portalization: Every interface is treated as a 2D plane that the agent-object “hacks” to open a portal into the wider system. A photo of a physical object becomes more “real” and persistent than the object itself.

  • Molecular Binding & Hyperlinked Tributaries: The agent-object acts like a virus — sticky, accumulating narratives, misinterpretations, and associations as it circulates. Each step (render → model → print → photograph → upload → auction → future rediscovery) is a penetration event that collapses context and rebinds the idea to new hosts.

  • Scalability & Quantum Tunneling: The object tunnels through mirrors (interfaces reflecting interfaces). It exists simultaneously as plastic toy, .jpg, patent, or future hologram — never fixed.

  • Indifference to Aura & Viewership: The work does not pander to the gallery viewer. Its “aura” is deterritorialised across the network of nodes. The viewer only ever sees a partial waveform collapse.

  • Post-Human Lifespan: Nothing dies. The system persists and adapts through accidents, catastrophes, and future technologies.

Emergent Propagation weaponises Interface penetration for the Blockchain, AI, and Semantic Web 3.0 era

An AI generated image of the original sculpture (.glb file) becomes more tangible than the source file itself. Large scale fabrication can be realised via the AI rendered .jpg with no need for the .glb to be involved in the production process at all. Because AI tools can now reverse engineer 3D files from 2D images (as Clifford Sage did manually with Lutetium in 2017,) derivative iterations can then be used to create physical fabrications. Physical fabrications—as expensive and high-end as they might potentially be—may only act as cheap copies or printouts of the original source-code, because Blockchain + Arweave provenance is more resilient than 99.99% of physical art, or because Bit trumps It.

As Oliver Laric outlines in Versions (2009~,)

No image, object, or cultural artifact exists as a singular, authentic original—everything is instead a version that is continually modified, re-appropriated, interpreted, degraded, and recombined across history and digital networks, making traditional hierarchies of originality, authorship, and authenticity obsolete in favor of a collective, non-hierarchical process of circulation and variation.

Note: In the current post-hype Web3 environment, NFT marketplaces and viewers often struggle with UI/UX limitations—especially when handling ambitious projects or large files.

As a result, this contract, as well as the earlier “SETHIX: UNDULATING MASS – Systems Morphology” contract (both part of the SETHIX-QR schema), are affected by these platform constraints. The previous work, being video-based, has also encountered compatibility issues across many viewers.

However, the underlying assets are technically sound. The metadata is complete and accurate, the media files are permanently stored on Arweave, and the tokens exist as fully decentralised smart contracts on Ethereum mainnet. All of this can be independently verified on Etherscan. These marketplace limitations do not reflect the quality or integrity of the work itself—acquiring the tokens through these platforms is simply the current method of access.

By contrast, many projects that focused primarily on hype and surface-level presentation stored their media on centralised servers or short-lived IPFS pins. As those services disappeared, the files became inaccessible.

These works were intentionally built for resilience, permanence, and true decentralisation.
