Short Thoughts On Building a DAO
Hope Everyone is well. I’ll be blogging about my journey in building a DAO over the next few months, so you all can learn along with me. In a sense, you guys will be traveling along with me in this Test DAO journey. Building out a “DAO” (and I use that term lightly) is a very tricky experience. In my adventures, I’ve come across some life lessons, and some learnings along the way. The goal of Test DAO is to bring contributors from outside of Web3 to a better understanding of the DAO Ecosystem...
Test Dao Quick Tips: How to Not Fail at Gnosis-Safe
You ever wonder “sweet, I’m a multi-sig signer” life is going to be great! Right??Life is indeed great as a multi sig signer, (or a multi signatory for the cultured of us). You get to have a say in what compensation gets to be approved, and sometimes, you get airdrops! We love airdrops! You can feel that special twinkle of joy in your spirit when you’re voted in as a multi sig, or chosen, or volunteered. Of course, being a multi signatory comes with its own pains, struggles, and annoyances. I...

First walkthrough! Welcome to the Test DAO Walkthroughs and Reviews. We’re here to get an idea of all of the DAO tooling that exists in the DAO ecosystem. I’ve wanted to check out Wonderverse for a while, so I’m excited that its finally ready for primetime…
Aesthetically wonderful
Centralized spot for contributors looking to make a living with bounties
Contributors can receive their payments directly after approval
Space for DAOs to post bounties
Multiple DAOs and Guilds have profiles with bounties that you can access.
Contributors cannot see all of the DAOs/Communities hat are available to access.
When bounties are available for contributors to complete, it doesn't look like you can receive notifications (will continue to look at this).
No mobile capability. No mobile web capability either. The company states that this is a feature that is coming soon. I spend the majority of my day on my phone. Not having a mobile feature for a project management platform can make things super tricky.
tasks take a while to be reviewed. This could be because of the amount of people monitoring the platform.
I had a task that had changes requested. I had no idea that it had changes requested. I found out when I happened to sign back in. It would be good to have notifications available when your bounties have status changes.
Wonderverse is a new project management platform that DAOs can use to manage projects presented to contributors. Contributors can sign up for bounties, and join pods to work towards the completion of various needs across the DAO landscape. The project has recently launched, with the alpha going live this past June 14.
Overall, Wonderverse is one of the growing number of project management platforms that are available for contributors to organize their tasks needed to progress their projects. It's a great start, but there's room to grow with Wonderverse. There's room to grow with every tool.
First note: “The Test DAO” had to apply for status for The Test DAO. I'm not sure if/when the DAO will be approved, so I can only check this out from a contributor standpoint for now. No big deal. Lets keep looking.
I understand that Wonderverse was created by a group of very intelligent founders who have had a history in the tech-related universe, and web3 over the years. That's pretty cool. (Also makes it difficult for a regular human such as myself to get in to a private beta, I'm sure.) I think its a good thing that there's such a storied history behind the product.
Let's start with the first thing you see when you type in wonderverse.xyz in your URL:

An aesthetically pleasing generic landing page. To log into Wonderverse, you can connect via discord and twitter, kind of like other web3 projects. I wonder if there's a web3 project that doesn’t use discord to connect? I think connecting to discord is perfectly fine, but I’m curious if there is something out there that doesn’t have the option. I'd be interested in finding this out. Feel free to let me know the answer!

You can connect via the typical connections, Metamask, Coinbase (pro tip: don’t do this!), Walletconnect, Discord, or email. I’ve mostly used Metamask, but I’ve attempted to use wallet connect in the past as well.
Up to you on how you want to join, but it’s beneficial to know your options. Next question, do people use email to connect to Web3 platforms? I'd be interested in finding that out also. Note: Coinbase, Metamask, and Wallet connect are all options that will connect you to your crypto wallet. Metamask is popular, Coinbase is concerning. Be cognizant of your options.

Here's the contributor panel. I'm infinitehomie.eth, and I apparently dont have that much eth in my wallet. It's hard out in these streets, but we won't worry about it. It's okay.
Above is the contributor panel. I assume the tutorial will help me understand which way to go. It doesn’t seem like its entirely intuitive. I’m a fan of projects that are intuitive, but tutorials are definitely helpful to understand how things work.
The contributor panel shows you what channels you need to complete, what you've already completed, and what you need to review.

Lets keep going. It looks like we need to start by exploring and joining an organization. Fair enough, I like randomly joining things. But from what it looks like, it seems like all we're doing here is just joining groups to try and jump on to bounty boards. Thus the point of Wonderverse, I presume.
I know that Dework.xyz, Charmverse, and notion, have the ability to join bounty boards with differing levels of success. I wonder what else wonder has to separate itself from the others. It looks like there's something out there, so I'll keep looking.
In the explore tab, you can see what DAOs are available complete bounties for. You have to 'join' the DAO database, to get to creating the DAOs.
Currently, there are 20 partners available on the explore DAOs page in Wonderverse. I believe there are more DAOs to be onboarded to the platform later. I've heard of some of these DAOs, not all of them though. Let's take a look at what's inside.
However, the way to 'apply for the bounty board is fascinating. I like just sending a very short elevator speech to see if anyone would want me to help is kind of cute.

A newer update to Wonderverse. The ability to check out available bounties without having to join a DAO. it looks like this update has some work to do considering some bounties lead you to this screen.

Not a big deal however, there’s always going to be hiccups along the way. I’ve run into issues where people who use wallet connect have to reconnect to the webpage every time you maneuver to a new page, I’ve also run into issues where my submissions have needed changes requested, but I cant figure out what those changes are.

But with every project that happens to be in the starting phases, there will always be hiccups along the way.
There’s always going to be hiccups for whatever project that exists in the DAO landscape. No tool can be perfect from the start, but the best tools can be those that have the ability to leave you asking questions, but wanting to learn more about what else there is to offer.
Wonderverse has a lot to offer. After continued updates, I believe that Wonderverse will become an even greater product. Of course, after adding mobile capability. Right?
Take a look at the project by heading to wonderverse.xyz for more details.
