I resolved to not longpost about anything going on about Remilia because I think I’ve been disproportionately louder than most people have right to be, but resolving not to do something can cause one to do exactly that sometimes, lol. I generally will speak up when I know I’m not the stupidest person in the room, and I’ve already seen a clumsier longpost making the rounds so whatever
I have talked to a lot of people the last few days, in public and in private, and engaged in a lot of the conversations like those you yourself might have been in. “Whose side are you on?” and so on and so forth. I have observed that the situation is one that really is like a ‘civil war’; i.e. one wherein there is no apparent unanimity or consensus within any group of people [1].
What is incoherent here is that this is not really a civil war. If you are reading this, the odds are you’re not involved in the lawsuit and are not directly affected by the lawsuit[2], and attempts to interject your own grievances into this matter are asinine[3]. I think people are reading my tweets as exactly that, and I’m surprised by that – for as much contempt as much of Milady Twitter has for Milady Village, I feel the exact same about Milady Twitter. We can argue all day about the current state of MV and whether gatekeeping failed or not and whose fault that is, but Milady Twitter never had available to it and never will have available to it any adequate gatekeeping mechanisms for either Remilia or its community. There’s no way to suitably express more thorough sentiments in Twitter’s character limits[4], and it’s a platform where you can get quote retweeted and introduced to a social circle which has no idea who you are and doesn’t know the context in which you’ve said certain things…blah blah blah, some of you morons really need to learn to allow for the fact that not only are you probably not qualified to directly comment on the suit, but that Twitter is the worst possible platform to try and do so.
Following from that idea, I think my public comments on the lawsuit itself (and Sprite’s response) have been fairly reserved, and should probably be able to summed as follows;
The suit coming into existence is a terrible look for both plaintiff and defendant. As it states itself in the contents, it follows months-long dispute and failed mediation. We’ve learned of chaos in heaven and it doesn’t seem like anyone was able to take advantage of the situation to pursue excellence.
As far as the allegations made against the other parties within, I suspect both sides think their actions have been legal, valid, and done in good faith, or they wouldn’t have done them.
Neither side is retarded, and neither side is egregiously malevolent[5].
I think the truth is going to fall somewhere in the middle between what the two sides are alleging. It’s not that the text of the suit is too difficult to understand, but I do know that am not a lawyer, I have never been in a suit, and it’s become obvious I and most others aren’t sufficiently familiar with the context of the alleged events and actions. (I appreciate the analysis of those who seem to have sufficient intelligence and experience to know what’s going on, but statements from such sources have been conflicting, and so I’ve lost conviction in the ideas expressed to me by individuals such as that.)
I have been incredibly critical of some of Remilia’s statements about the existence of lawsuit, what individuals within Remilia have said as [direct or indirect] response to the existence the lawsuit over the last few days, and I’ve expressed my thought about the fact that can be expressed in short as “Remilia and its community cannot say the same things about itself on September 12th as it did up to and including September 10th, because we all found out too much about it on September 11th” and an example is both provided in footnote[6] and just browse my posts around this time with this awareness in mind.
Nothing I’ve said is oppositional – the most oppositional thing to do would be to not say anything, and allow and encourage myself and others to lose interest in Remilia entirely. I’ve done nothing of the sort[7]. I allow for the majority of what Onno said in response to a recent tweet I made;
It's not going to be a problem: mystique is shaped by the mind and executive vision of the auteur, and Remilia has always been about fanciful performance art. You had the veil pulled from your eyes, yet around you is a theatre keen on capturing your interest once more. - [8]
The major point of disagreement I have is the idea that the existence of the lawsuit is “not going to be a problem”. The last few months have foisted a lot of problems onto Remilia’s plate. Many of those could have been resolved and many still can be. The last few days have foisted more significant problems onto its plate. Even in the case where Remilia outright wins the lawsuit, so that it indeed it turns out that the defendants tried to attack Ceasar with a plastic spoon[9], the existential problem will still endure; we have been told, believed, and spread the word that Remilia’s is an emperor that cannot bleed. On September 11th we found out he has been cut and we all saw him bleeding. There any number of other Potemkin communities propping up a cryptocurrency you can join today and engage in that kind of “WAGMI GM TO THE MOON” cognitive dissonance bullshit and they are utterly boring and culturally irrelevant – to watch Remilia allow for that that approach would be like seeing it fall from the First Angel to the Thirteenth[10].
On the treachery of un-involved parties opping.
I want to re-emphasize the idea that Remilia hasn’t done anything to you to merit opping it, and to do so would be treacherous (I’d refer again to footnotes 2 and 3). It bears reiterate again and what is lingering from footnotes 5 and 6 – Sprite didn’t do anything to you, either, and you would be and are a treacherous dog if you suddenly express contempt for Sprite as a result of the suit. You cannot go from liking the art one day to suddenly pivoting and expressing contempt for it without giving yourself away as a coward[11]. I’ve even seen people, apparently intending to be pro-Charlie/pro-Remilia suggest art is ultimately irrelevant and it’s marketing skills that are most valued[12]; this argument doesn’t even work in Charlie’s favor and it’s immediately obvious to anyone who’s been around for five minutes.
On Remilia’s apparent[?] attempts to discredit Sprite as an artist.
Again, footnote 6. It’s just not something they can do for Remilia copy without consequences because it can’t be said without undermining any number of previous statements, and would seem to me to be an angelic degragation (see footnote 10). Yes, absolutely, some attempt to obfuscate the significance of Sprite in court is legally required, but in terms of a thorough retroactive disavowal, any number of tweets, posts, etc. will actively contradict this. Remilia cannot say it is ‘easy’ to refute Sprite’s appraisal of the situation, this should be a painful experience[13]. It will not and does not ring true to attempt to do this.
On my presence in Todd Fine statements and some of what I’ve said.
Again, not opping, but I don’t necessarily have a ton of conviction in what I say when I’m up there. Some Todd Fine spaces are unbearable because he allows any riffraff from pseudo-communities to come up and attempt to lecture us on what we’re doing wrong in the cryptospace, blah blah blah not understanding we don’t want their input. I’d rather be up there thinking out loud ideas that haven’t necessarily finished cooking in my mind than listen to an ape pfp pretend to be a law expert all of a sudden[14].
On selling my Milady.
My personal rationale is that the situation allowed for it and it was logical. There are a few seasons Remilia cannot be accused of being a grift; one of which is that even from its earliest days it has encouraged taking profit. I’d put a footnote here to a podcast where Charlotte says this verbatim but mirror.xyz is being bizarre with the whole footnote thing and idk what im doing im just trying to talk to my friends on the computer (and so it’s left for the interested yet unfamiliar reader to find it).
On the suggestion I should rotate my profits from Remilia asset sales into other crypto projects.
lol

Privately I have thanked Sprite (for a myriad things) and wished him success in the future. I want to affirm this sentiment publicly (for a myriad reasons).
I have no idea what he has planned next and if it’ll even appear in venues I’ll get to know anything about, but I’m sure his future works will merit all of our attention – yes, even Remilia’s. I think the probability that something is revealed to make me change my opinion on Sprite is incredibly low; nothing that has been revealed so far has made me shift my view on him whatsoever.
i am an orphan chinese girl i am lost in america and my parents die in incident in los angeles please i need food for a mcdouble send to internetfriend.eth
[1] That is to say, there’s no statement I can make along the lines of “I’ve noticed all the people who actually have skin in the game are standing with Remilia” or “everyone in some splinter Discord server is opping” because I am aware of non-trivial numbers of exceptions (and/or Individuals of Significance that would override the majority opinion of any subclade you try to define) to pretty much any generalization you can try to make.
[2] There is a sentiment from some people that because, for example, you are heavily [over-]invested in Remilia assets, then you are are directly affected (either by the egregiousness of Sprite’s actions or a perceived inadequacy in Charlotte’s response, depending on your own take on the situation). With some degree of sympathy, the tl;dr response to this would be lol you’re retarded
[3] It’s cleanly and concisely been articulated by Tosu;
“charlie vs sprite has sadly turned into business vs art, or selling out vs culture, or twitter vs discord, or loyal vs opp, but it's not any of this and people should stay distanced from stuff they're not involved in”
- https://twitter.com/blackwindtosu/status/1702096698913222844
[4] Short of buying a twitter subscription which lol no (and for the record the idea of buying Discord Nitro is even more lol)
[5] I was as surprised by people who didn’t wait for Sprite’s response to condemn him (over-eager turncoat) to those he suddenly decided he was 100% in the right upon reading his response (not sure what term to use here).
[6] I have seen some suggest Milady is simply a case of separation of art from artist. In my estimation, that is a symptom of post-modernity and atheism; now that humanity allows the idea art is separated from divine inspiration (most expressly manifested when we have to ask each other “What even is art, anyway?”) then you have cases where you’ve allowed some spiritually devoid work to be identified as art, and should hardly be surprised when some of these works turn out to be done by a sex pervert or a thing such as that. Separating Milady from Sprite (and/or obfuscating the relationship) is not something I’m saying Remilia should not do in court, but it could still say Milady represents the divine and Remilia currently has a mandate from heaven when it now has to part ways and disavow the Art’s divinely inspired artist. [For the Twitter crowd: there are several key words in there placed very deliberately that would not be there if I was “opping” Remilia.]
[7] And again, unless you’re a defendant in the suit, you don’t really have any cause to either.

[10] There’s no I would write all this without some Evangelion reference, but it works very well here. It’s not obvious or comprehensible (no matter how much Evageeks wants to try and parse it. PS good riddance to reichu, they were always a pox on that community) what happened to Kaworu to see him ‘demoted’ the way he was. There wasn’t even any obvious corporeal change. But it was obvious he had become an aberration and Shinji was compelled to see him destroyed. I leave it to the reader to draw as many parallels as they see fit.
[11] you like the money but do you have the courage to love the art

[13] From Charlotte’s POV, this probably reads as overly critical and unconstructivel pedantic to attack him for the use of the term ‘easy’ as in the “Meaningless and easily refuted FUD” of one of their September 12 tweets, but contrast the tone and allowances of that statement to the tones and allowances of a tweet a day before; “think a significant part of the greed and entitlement generated here is rooted in low level team having visibility on funds they normally would never have in a company.” It’s subtle but to me it’s significant and ties back into idea I’m trying to bring up in footnote 10. I’ll leave it as an exercise to Remilia to understand the difference there, I don’t think it’s too subtle.
[14] Essentially, I’m trying to keep the Lowest Common Denominator value from going too low, and when someone who knows more than me speaks up, I shut up. Or else the space becomes so unsalvageable I can’t take it, such as when Todd allowed known sex pest @Eiritana, who is banned from MV for spamming it with degenerate pornography for several hours, to be a co-host of space for the better part of several hours. (What have we talked about regarding gatekeeping, Agent Kane?)
