Australia is the only continent-owned country in the world and one of the longest coastlines in the world, with blue, white clouds, sand beaches, cliffs, walls, transparent seawaters, constituting a salinity. Australia is one of the most popular tourist countries around the world, and Melbourne has been rated repeatedly as the world’s most suitable city.

Australia is deeply affected by marine culture, with several major cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Cairns, which have concentrated the vast majority of Australia’s population. “Living on the Edge”, Australians live along the coast, with swimming, waves, sailings, and diving as daily living in the sea.

Australia’s most well-known site, the Sydney theatre, is also an expression of Australian marine culture. The Sydney theatre, located in the faculties of Port Sydney, offers a great deal of appreciation to the sea and offers daily visits by tourists from around the world. The designer of the theatre was the Danish designer, Joen W. W., who, without a visit to Sydney, produced a sketch, and was awarded the Plesetsk Award in 2003. This construction, which was built in 1973, is so representative that it is valued by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage.

Designed to better serve life, many Australian designs are related to marine life or water resources. The Australian Design Award, founded in 1958, Good DesignAwards, is a national design award covering architectural, communications design, design strategies, digital design, product design, service design and social innovation, which identifies and rewards excellent works in Australia in designing innovations and develops a design culture and innovation capacity in Australia. Australia’s design features can be found in its successive awards.

The Good Design Awards 2012 Award was won by the well-known director of Leaving, Kamelung, and the Australian design team, who worked together to build a deep-sea submarine that would bring him to the bottom of the “Challenges”, a submarine that could endure extreme pressures in the deep sea of tens of thousands of metres, with a function of 3D in the deep sea, which was completed only 12 months. This project presents Australia’s design features - science and technology, innovation, and future.

Australia is faced with global warming leading to coral reef deaths, and some Australian students have designed a system to help regenerate coral reefs. Another design work in Good Design Awards — water filters, the use of simple equipment to help people gain access to clean drinking water in poor environments, attempts to propose solutions of universal significance through design and science to address the global problem of the water crisis.

The design 1.0 age is to make things better; the design 2.0 age is a product service design; the design 3.0 age is designed as a strategic and commercial tool; and in the design 4.0 age, the design is a force for changing societies. We are facing many global challenges, such as climate warming, water scarcity, air pollution, agriculture for sustainable development, etc., which require forward-looking thinking by designers around the globe. Australia, for its part, designs a global front-line exploration in this regard.

The year 2017 marks the 45th anniversary of CANZ, with a series of events and celebrations in both Central and Western countries, such as the Australian performance season, the Central Australian tourist year, the 45th anniversary, 45 stories. New waves of home and living floors, 751 D.park initiated a cultural exchange of “the world’s home”, co-hosting the world’s embassies in China, sharing the design culture and living patterns of contemporary global pluralism. A series of events was organized in 2017 in cooperation with embassies of Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. On 20 December 2017, in cooperation with the Australian Embassy in China, we shared in Beijing the wisdom of life in Australia, a maritime State, under the theme “Australia: Living on the®”. At that time, Michael Rayner, a well-known Australian architect, the designer of the China National Ocean Museum, and the well-known Chinese designer Sun will carry out an exchange collision between the Chinese culture.
