Conflicted

“Behind many disagreements is a clash of cultures that seem strange to each other. Don’t assume that yours is the normal one.” - Ian Leslie

I love this reminder to be humble in interactions and look at things from another perspective. It's possible that what feels deeply true to you may be just one of many viable ways to see the world.

If you can build self-awareness, get your assumptions and feelings on the table, and be curious about how others see the world, you may find your conflicts feeling less conflicted.

If you're interested in trying something this week, try to feel when a conflict is arising by listening to your body. Can you can sense your tension building and go, "Oooh!" to mark it? Let me know if you give that a try!I was introduced to this book, "Conflicted" by Ian Leslie, when the author appeared on one of my favorite podcasts, EconTalk, hosted by Russ Roberts.
