The test environment is live here: https://alpha-test.experience.konchord.now
What you are seeing in this test environment is the work of the last two years ideating, learning, building and connecting with what the experience wants to be. This journey started in 2020 when I produced a lot of new music for my live video series "Seasons". I still have 16 unreleased songs from this project that feel so deeply personal, that I don't just want to release them on Spotify and leave it at that. Instead, I set out to build a new home for these songs, how they are experienced and engaged with. That's how the Konchord Experience was born. What followed has been an amazing learning experience with its usual ups and downs, such as thinking "Will anyone ever get this?" or "Oh gosh, this is such a huge project, I will never be able to execute on this" - and on the other side feeling an extreme excitement about it, being fully immersed in the creative process. Now I can share a first test environment that is designed for conducting user tests and validating the idea. If you have some time, have a look at the test environment above and explore the universe. And if you have some feedback to share I would greatly appreciate your opinion - you have a real chance to shape this project with your input as I am continuing to develop.

When you enter the experience, you are in the main universe. Here you find several planets, each representing a release, such as a song or an album. As you enter one of these planets, you enter a level-deeper into the universe and will find a collection of experiences to engage with. So far the following experiences are implemented:

Each stem of the song, e.g. Vocals, Drums, Keys, etc. is represented by a 3D-object in space. By using headphones or speakers in a good listening environment, you can hear the elements coming from their position in space and changing loudness as you move closer or further away. You can also mute or solo individual audio elements. Spatial Audio engine is powered by Atmoky.
For the songs with music video, you can watch it inside the experience and you'll find some additional behind the scenes material. You might need to look around a little bit in order to find it...
Here are questions to reflect on the theme of the song. For example, for the song "Off For New Shores", one of the questions is "When was a time in your life that you took off for new shores?". Everyone can share their thoughts on this question with the community. My intention here is that sometimes the music resonates so deeply with personal experiences in one's life, that I think other people can greatly benefit from hearing these perspectives.
Some releases have official remixes, which are embedded within the experience. Furthermore, there are the Community Remixes where you can get access to the stems of the track and create a remix of the song yourself. You can then upload your creation to the experience and share it within the community, get feedback and possibly have it released to a wider audience (this feature is still under development).
Using custom shader settings you can create your own animated version of the original cover artwork and share your creation with the community. You can also see how other users have adapted the song's cover art.
I have already a lot of ideas for more things to come, but it'll take some time to develop them. If you have ideas on how to shape this experience, I'd love to exchange thoughts. Please don't hesitate to reach out via kontact@konchord.now.
This experience is working - for the most part - on mobile and tablet as a Progressive Web App (tested on iPhone and iPad so far). Unfortunately the 3D-Audio experience is not working on mobile yet, due to high demand in performance (but it's working fine on desktop).
To install the Konchord experience as a Progressive Web App, you simply need to open the webpage in your mobile browser, click on share, and then add it to your home screen. An icon will appear on your home screen and the experience opens as a fullscreen app on your phone.
Additionally, the chosen tech stack (React Three Fiber) allows to make this experience available on VR-headsets in the future.

"Friends With Builders" is a builders program by the Friends With Benefits DAO & web3 community. For the last 6 weeks we had several top-notch workshops with industry leaders from the blockchain ecosystem, while we've been building on our ideas, sharing the progress and getting builders support from the cohort on discord. "We" are a group of around 50 creative builders located around the world, technical and non-technical, web3 experts as well as beginners, and all certainly passionate about exploring new frontiers of human and non-human interaction.
I am extremely grateful for this program, as it has been an inspiring, nurturing ground to publicly showcase this first version of the Konchord Experience, knowing there is a community of like-minded, creative weirdos who are open to exploring new shores of digital creative expression.
