Meta Morph is the new thing for Season 10 of Axie Origins, allowing collectable Axies to change some of its parts for Origins. It will for sure have a big impact on breeding as well as the speed at which the meta shifts given the ease of getting perfect Axies for whatever strategies.

At the time of writing, a Mystic Axie is sitting at the top spot of the leaderboard. I can totally see this becoming the norm if the Meta Morph system stays as it is. Excited to see how Meta Morph will change the dynamics of the meta throughout this Season.

Already 77k players in the first week for Season 10, which is more than 20% more than the 63k last season. Having said that, more half of the players are at Egg and Chick (the lowest 2 tiers). The rest of the player base seems pretty similar as before.

Archetype Usage

Overall archetype usage

First we can ignore the 1900+ as there were only 3 games played between Day 3 and Day 5 of the Rare Era in that bracket. When we look at 1800-1900, it is nice to see more diversity. Yes, Turnip is still around but at least it now can be somewhat countered by dispel. Besides Turnip, we see Feather, Fury Aggro, Triple Owl, Bubble Aggro, and Triple Nuts with more than 5% usage. Poison, Anemone, and Jinx can also be found in Challenger.

Of course, it is still early in the Era and I am sure more archetypes making it into Challenger such as Sponge, Sustain, Leafy, Topaz etc. In fact there are Topaz x Turnip teams (even Topaz with Giant Bubble) at the top of the leaderboard!

Archetype Win Rates and Matchups

Anemone seems to be the one having the best time in Challenger at the moment as it has good matchups against Fury Aggro and Turnip, both of which are popular at the top. I am sure the meta will shift as archetype usage changes throughout the Era. Turnip, Feather, and Triple Owl are also doing well in Challenger, while Fury Aggro, Bubble Aggro, and Triple Nut are doing okay. Poison on the other hand is not having the best time this Era.

Archetype Matchups

It is good to see a healthy matchup spread where each archetype has some weaknesses. There are still some very polarising ones, e.g. Spikes vs Turnip, and I personally feel that Spikes need a bit of rework to make it less dependent on the opponent. I personally have been playing a Leafy Tri Spikes team and I just hope to face Feather every game so they proc my Spikes.

Conclusion

A healthy start for Season 10 of Axie Origins in terms of the meta. Meta Morph will be a big factor especially for competitive players fighting for the top spots. Not finanical advice but I think the demand for collectables will continue to increase hopefully as more players are getting into Axie Origins.
