On the afternoon of February 18, in a community on Baishazhou Avenue, Wuchang District, Wuhan, a woman climbed onto the roof of an 11 storey residential building and wanted to jump off the building to commit suicide. Fortunately, the fire control, police and property management personnel arrived in time. After nearly an hour of persuasion, the woman was successfully rescued.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw a woman sitting on a beam on the roof, her mood out of control. As the woman is not able to lay a life-saving air cushion on the ground and has been sitting on the roof beam for nearly an hour, there will be a risk of falling casualties if she is careless. After wearing protective equipment, the firefighters at the scene climbed over the guardrail and handed the woman a bowl of hot water to ease her tension.

Subsequently, under the concerted persuasion of the people, the woman wanted to give up the idea of suicide. When the woman was close to the guardrail on the roof, firefighters and police quickly grabbed the woman’s two arms and pulled her back to the safe area on the roof.
