Trying out a new experiment,making a screen recording of a mind map slideshow. I made this mind map some years ago, loosely inspired by the book From Counterculture to Cyberculture: Stewart Brand, the Whole Earth Network, and the Rise of Digital Utopianism by Fred Turner.

“Shedding new light on how our networked culture came to be, this fascinating book reminds us that the distance between the Grateful Dead and Google, between Ken Kesey and the computer itself, is not as great as we might think”, one can read on Turner’s site. In the mind map I included lots of nodes and links to recent developments, trying to get insights from the history of cyber- and counterculture to get a better understanding about possible future scenarios. Of course, many things are still lacking, it’s an endless project.
