Farcaster2. iMessage Rant
Varun Srinivasan shared a critique of iMessage’s functionalities, stirring up engaging conversations.
Varun Srinivasan on Warpcast Daily rant: why do people like iMessage?
- 2nd worst in spam (after telegram)
- doesn't sync contacts and some conversations to desktop
- lets one person have many identities (phone + email)
- almost no one has pfps
- tapbacks are boomer
I get why people use it, but why do some people actually prefer it
Farcaster3. Hubble 1.14 Release
Sanjay announced the release of Hubble 1.14, addressing several issues and adding new capabilities.
Sanjay on Warpcast Hubble 1.14 is out. It includes a bunch of fixes around follows (consistency issues and large compaction events breaking event streams).
If you are using shuttle, make sure you’re on the latest version before upgrading hubs, there’s a breaking api change for events.
Farcaster4. Building Warpcast Clients
Michael Pfister advised potential developers on the best reasons to create Warpcast clients.
Michael Pfister on Warpcast The only reason you should build a Warpcast-flavored farcaster client right now is if you have a large pre-existing and external community looking for a new home.
If 80% of your features overlap with things warpcast already does, you're gonna have a hard time.
Strongest differentiators come down to
- Net new community
- Orthogonal features that have very low likelihood Warpcast will build them in
Warpcast isn't stealing your feature.
It's your job to understand Merkle/Warpcast's own product strategy and incentives, then build your product in a way that's symbiotic.
Farcaster5. Hypersub Cross-Chain Payments
Jonny Mack highlighted a new feature allowing users to subscribe with any token across any blockchain.
Jonny Mack on Warpcast new on hypersub.xyz: cross-chain payments
you can now subscribe with any token, on any chain. no need to swap or bridge, just pay with what you have✨
all payments settle in whatever the creator denominated their subscription in

Jacob introduced Sparks, a new unit of measurement for Ethereum, simplifying on-chain transactions.
jacob on Warpcast A lot of thinking went into finding the right word for this.
We tried a lot, and when we came across Sparks it immediately hit.
Typing and saying ✧100 is so much nicer than 0.0001 ETH https://imagedelivery.net/BXluQx4ige9GuW0Ia56BHw/0b326d43-80a5-42d0-6b32-4ff95c3fe000/original https://warpcast.com/zora/0x73e64e18

Farcaster17. Product Mistakes Shared
Woj revealed critical product mistakes from the early days of Supercast, providing valuable insights.
woj on Warpcast 2 largest product mistakes i made when starting supercast:
- not starting on mobile
- not investing more in really good push notifications
in hindsight, supercast wouldn't be where it is if i didn't cut these (and other) corners, but i'd solve these first if i were to build a farcaster client from scratch again

Cryptic Poet highlighted Jesse Pollak's success with Base's testnet, reinforcing its future potential.

Huge kudos to @jessepollak and everyone involved! 🫡
Farcaster19. Auto Follow Insights
Shazow shared some thoughts on the implications of the auto-follow system in Farcaster.
shazow on Warpcast Apparently 194 of my followers came from auto follow, a whoppin' 7%.
How should we feel about a system that pushed hundreds of thousands of auto follows to some accounts, to bootstrap their local celebrity status?
Is this a premine? 😅 https://dune.com/chasesommer/farcaster-auto-follow
Farcaster20. Networking at Events
Ted encouraged new users to host events for further engagement within the Farcaster community.
