Hey: https://hey.xyz/posts/1aj14aqfyahhtqtwp6
London, UK – November 22, 2025 – Central London was once again the scene of a major demonstration as thousands of citizens marched peacefully from Marble Arch to Whitehall, protesting vehemently against the UK government's controversial plan for a mandatory national digital identity system. This latest protest, occurring on a crisp November Saturday, marked a significant escalation in public resistance to what many fear is an unprecedented governmental overreach into personal privacy and autonomy.
The protest drew a diverse crowd - from technology experts and civil liberties advocates to concerned parents and small business owners - all united under a common banner: “NO TO DIGITAL ID.” Chants calling for "Digital Privacy Now" and "Freedom, Not Surveillance" echoed through the historic streets, making the collective concerns of the populace impossible for policymakers to ignore. Participants voiced deep-seated fears regarding the potential consequences of such a centralized digital system, including the risk of widespread government and corporate surveillance, the effective elimination of personal autonomy and what they view as a fundamental erosion of established civil liberties.
A key focus of the rally was the potential for the digital ID to transform from a simple verification tool into an architecture for pervasive digital control. Organizers and powerful speakers took to the platform to issue stark warnings, suggesting that mandatory digital ID technologies could dangerously pave the way for a system akin to a digital cage or even a social credit system, where access to essential services, commerce and public life is conditionally granted based on one's digital profile and compliance. These warnings resonate with global debates surrounding data privacy, algorithmic governance and the ethical implications of government-issued digital credentials.
The demonstration surpassed typical political divides, serving as a powerful rallying point for citizens across various political and socio-economic backgrounds who share a common commitment to individual rights and the protection of a free society. Speakers emphasized that while modernizing public services is a legitimate goal, it must not come at the cost of citizens' fundamental freedoms. They collectively urged the UK government to immediately halt the mandatory implementation process. Instead, they demanded that any future digital identity systems must be built upon the core principles of genuine voluntarism, transparency and robust, decentralized privacy protections, ensuring that the technology serves the individual, not the other way around. The message was clear: the government must respect the fundamental right to remain free from unwarranted digital scrutiny and surveillance.

Shifting focus from the hustle of London’s protests, our lens now captures a moment of pure American automotive nostalgia. Spotted glinting under the Texas sun in The Woodlands, an immaculately preserved Lincoln Continental Mark V commands attention - a true, undeniable icon of American luxury motoring at its peak.
The Mark V was not merely a car; it was a statement. Produced for a short but significant run between 1977 and 1979, this vehicle emerged during the zenith of the personal luxury coupe craze. Against a backdrop of increasing government regulation and a shifting automotive landscape, the Mark V retained its unapologetic scale and grand styling. It is immediately recognizable by its distinctive, sharp-edged, almost architectural styling cues, including the famous opera windows and the prominent, Rolls-Royce-inspired grille. A signature feature remains the hidden headlamps, which give the frontal design a sleek, unbroken appearance when parked - a touch of sophisticated drama. Its massive dimensions and luxurious appointments ensured an unmatched road presence, making every journey feel like an event. Power typically came from a substantial V8 engine, propelling a car designed first and foremost for supremely comfortable, quiet cruising.
The presence of this gleaming classic is particularly fitting in The Woodlands. Classic car gatherings are a deeply beloved and well-established tradition in this part of Texas. Local car clubs thrive, and weekend shows at various venues - from parking lots to dedicated event spaces - create a vibrant, year-round community for enthusiasts, restorers and casual admirers alike. These events celebrate the craftsmanship and engineering of bygone eras, fostering a sense of shared passion and historical appreciation.
In a modern automotive world increasingly dominated by practical, efficient crossovers and SUVs, the Lincoln Continental Mark V stands as a powerful and elegant reminder of a different time. It speaks to an era when cars were crafted not just for utility, but explicitly for comfort, opulence, and, above all, making an unforgettable entrance. This magnificent machine, seen cruising through the contemporary streets of Texas, is more than just transportation - it is a cherished, fully operational piece of rolling history, preserving the style and spirit of late 1970s American ambition.
A big thank you to our Clickstar in Texas! Consistently providing us with fantastic photos from the car clubs. We appreciate you sharing!

Staying in the realm of craftsmanship, yet moving to another kind of art - one that blends monumental sculpture with complex engineering - we turn our attention to the magnificent Floralis Genérica. This breathtaking work stands as a dynamic centerpiece in the heart of Recoleta’s Plaza de las Naciones Unidas in Buenos Aires. Set dramatically in a vast reflecting pool, and framed by lush green parkland and sweeping city views, the sculpture is a profound dialogue between the urban environment and the natural world.
Commissioned by Argentine architect Eduardo Catalano, the sculpture is a marvel of modern technology and artistic vision. It is constructed from a marriage of polished aluminum and robust stainless steel, materials chosen for both their aesthetic brilliance and their ability to withstand the elements. Weighing an impressive 18 tons, the structure is dominated by its six massive, shell-like petals. These petals were not designed to be static; rather, they were engineered with a sophisticated hydraulic and electrical system to perform a daily ritual. Every morning at dawn, the six colossal petals slowly and gracefully open, mimicking the awakening of a living flower. Then, as the sun begins its descent, the petals slowly close at sunset, symbolizing a perennial bloom that meticulously follows the rhythm of the sun and the cycle of life. The spectacle of the flower's opening and closing is a highly anticipated event, drawing crowds of spectators daily. The six exceptions to the nightly closure are significant dates: May 25th (Argentina's First National Government), September 21st (Spring Day), December 24th, and December 31st.
Catalano conceived the work as a universal dedication, choosing the name Floralis Genérica to convey this boundless scope. Floralis is derived from flora, the Latin word for plant life, and Genérica comes from gender, signifying the encompassing nature of the piece. Together, the name represents "all flowers" - every blossom in the world - and embodies the daily renewal of hope and the eternal cycle of nature.
Today, Floralis Genérica is more than just a public artwork; it has become a powerful and instantly recognizable symbol of Buenos Aires itself. It perfectly encapsulates the city's unique fusion of ambitious art, innovative technology, and reverence for nature. Its polished surfaces brilliantly reflect the ever-changing sky, the surrounding architecture of the city, and the image of every person who comes close to it, making the viewer an intrinsic, dynamic part of the artwork's existence. In its cyclical opening and closing, Floralis Genérica serves as a constant, monumental reminder of beauty, permanence, and the simple, enduring miracle of a new day.

From manmade beauties, we journey now to the wild, ancient landscapes of Epirus, a region nestled in northwestern Greece. This mountainous area, home to villages like Romia, has a deep-rooted and legendary history intertwined with canines. Since antiquity, Epirus has been renowned for its fierce and loyal working dogs, most notably the famed Molossian hounds. These impressive animals were indispensable guardians, watching over the vast flocks that grazed the highlands and fiercely protecting homes and settlements.
Even today, Epirus preserves its largely unspoiled, rural character. The landscape is a mosaic of timeless stone villages, dense oak forests, and expanses of grazing land that stretch across rugged terrain. In this environment, the bond between humans and dogs remains a central element of daily life and local identity. Shepherd dogs continue their vigilant work, guiding and defending livestock, while loyal farm companions are a constant, essential presence in and around the villages.
Encountering the bright-eyed, alert village dogs that roam these ancient paths is more than just a fleeting moment; it captures a living, unbroken historical thread. These contemporary dogs are the direct descendants of the ancient Greek guardians and the invaluable hunting companions that served the people of Epirus millennia ago. They embody a heritage of loyalty, intelligence and protective instinct, continuing to watch over the fields, traverse the well-worn paths, and stand guard over the families of Epirus, just as their ancestors did in the age of myth and legend.
These local legends have now been immortalized on the Digital Trust Network, thanks to our local Clickstar. This is a wonderful piece of local lore!
