By the time Hollywood stars were buying JPEGs for millions of dollars, I was just a regular web2 marketing girlie. The bull run was on fire, everyone around me wouldn't stop talking about crypto—but it wasn't until I found out about NFTs that the entire web3 started making sense to me.

But my ride into web3 wasn't exactly smooth.

I was minding my own business, living life as a post-grad working remotely as a copywriter.

Sure, my husband and his bros were all into crypto (you know, the regular exit liquidity guys who joined too late lol) but I didn't think any of that was meant for me.

The fact that he was making some money (which to me looked like sheer luck) did drag my attention, but honestly, to me, it was always about connecting with people for a vision.

And wow, the future with Bitcoin and decentralized ownership sounded revolutionary.

But I didn't get into this world myself until I came across NFTs and projects like Boss Beauties and World of Women ✨

These projects kind of made me feel like crypto wasn't a boy-exclusive school I was trying to get into. There was space to belong and ask questions without being shoved aside for being a ugh girl and ugh not having all the technical knowledge native crypto folks had.

Suddenly I was part of a parallel reality that most people didn't know existed. And I couldn't turn back now.

By the end of 2021, I pitched two crypto-related articles to my manager and wrote about cryptocurrency for the first time. I couldn't stop thinking about it.

It was also the time I created my first web3 wallet, bought crypto for the first time and bought my own NFTs!!!

And yep, I did use FTX when I started lol!!!

Bye web2, hello web3

As the new year began, one of my crypto investments started paying off and I knew this was the way to go.

I got to make my full-time job as a Content Manager a part-time so I could focus on writing my own crypto blog and taking some freelance gigs in the crypto industry.

And boy, oh, boy, things were looking up!

At first, I knew NOTHING of what I was trying to write.

So I dedicated all my time to learning all I could about crypto—and writing educational pieces about the industry. I created my portfolio from scratch while writing 24/7 and experiencing massive impostor syndrome.

It was hell, but I loved it.

It was the end of a bull market, but I still managed to freelance as a marketing copywriter for a web3 gaming studio, a crypto mixer, a crypto news site, and an NFT project—and even worked for a crypto marketing agency for a month.

By mid-2022, I was working full-time as a Content Editor for a big company in the web3 world. I was having the time of my life—and had no idea it would be such a rollercoaster ride 😂
