My parents bought their first home in their twenties, and while they were not spoilt for choice, it was mostly a conversation about which one they wanted.
For most people my age, that conversation doesn't exist. You're choosing between saving for another five-seven years or accepting that ownership might not happen at all - no matter where you're living.
I know people with good jobs with steady incomes, and solid savings with great habits who have been priced out of nearly every area they've looked at - all across Europe. The maths just doesn't work anymore, they're not bad with money it's just the first rung is broken.
In the UK the average deposit is $67,000. The average first-time buyer is 38. A decade ago, the deposit was $19,000 and the average buyer was 31.
We started OpenHouse because we believe the financial system can work better. 2026 feels like the right time to build something fairer. A way for more people to own property, build wealth, and benefit from an asset class that has worked for generations.
We're excited to spend this year making that real, and we're s glad you're here with us.
