Oversaturation pitch deck

By Ross C Berg and Clover Fields. Rent is due tomorrow and we don’t have it, but today we finished our pitch finally! We’ve been working on it for about 4 months now. It’s crazy it took that long just to refine our business down to 9 slides. But we learned this:

It’s not what you put in a pitch that makes it good. It’s what you leave out.

This is the one we’re going to send investors. We’re also making it free for download to use as a template on our Substack. We encourage everyone to use it. I based it off the Y Combinator examples.

"punch us in the face in the first 3 slides" - John Gannon. Shows market opportunity. States problem. Answers "Why this market"

Used normal language to avoid buzz words. Explains problem. Leads into what we do

Our business name and what we do. We originally said "A tattoo education and entertainment content creator business" lol.

We found a way to combine 4 slides into one. This shows our differentiator, explains our business model, shows the team, and leads into the unfair advantage. (Didn't want to use jargon 'Creator HoldCo' but really couldn't avoid it because it's such a new and specific kind of investment.) Starts to answer "Why this team"

This is our unique value proposition. Answers "Why this team"

All our research said to include hard data. Answers "Why now"

This combines 3 slides. Our business model, our scalability, and our vision

Research also said include when investors get their money back and how much they're going to make on this deal. I guess sometimes (or a lot of times) people pitch but they're not actually planning to make a lot of money, or at least not for the investors. lol.

"The ask" slide. I really wanted to put the structure of the deal here, but instead chose this. We wanted to get investors to look in our data room because our data room is stacked. Our goal with this pitch was to show respect to the investor: we know that they know everyone is special or they wouldn't be pitching. I also removed anything that said the problem was 'we just need funding" to produce the thing there is demand for.

We are broke and we are going all in right now. Putting it all on the line because we know we built something meaningful here. We’re going to lift up the community. The world needs this.
