I’ve recently joined the core team at Builder DAO to help mobilize, organize and inspire a community of web3 builders. My mission is to help connect and empower Builder DAO to create a better internet. My background is in community/developer relations, most recently at KILT Protocol, a blockchain protocol for identity and trust. I’m an experienced technical mentor currently for All Tech is Human, a non-profit focused on responsible tech, and am the Technical Lead for the ACHWM, a culturally and data responsible tool for Indigenous children.
I focus on mentorship and technology for good, and after I understood the potential for blockchain there was no turning back. Now I get to be on the leading edge of blockchain technology where my primary goal is to help devs succeed in the space by reducing friction and maximizing impact. This hits all the marks, and I’m extremely grateful and excited to help you; the change-makers, put a dent in the universe.
But I haven’t always been a part of web3. I come from a small mining community, population ~170k, hardly a mecca for innovation. Despite this, I was able to go back to University and kick-start my career in software within a year of cracking open “Intro to Programming”. Yes it was legacy code, and no I wasn’t changing the world, but it was a start. And I went from nothing to building a reputation and earning an income within a year. 2017 comes around and it’s clear blockchain is here to make an impact, I had to get involved. But breaking into blockchain in a meaningful way felt like a different animal. I spent years grokking docs, contributing to communities, creating portals and content, making connections, and applying for jobs before finally securing a role.

What if this wasn’t the case? What if we reduced this barrier to entry? Imagine a world where the tens of millions of web2 builders have web3 in their toolbox. In this world, they don’t just understand how it works, but understand its value proposition and can execute with efficiency. Real use cases, real impact, self-sovereignty, and decentralization where it counts. Look around, what problems have they solved? What opportunities have they created? Is the world a better place? For me, it’s clear that it’s a resounding yes. And you, are those builders.

This is why I joined Builder DAO. I want to see this future manifest, where the meaning, value, and impact of web2 and web3 are synonymous. A future where self-sovereignty is de facto, where meaning carries value and everyone has a voice and impact. But I’m not the one to do it - you are… and this is Builder DAO's prime directive. To organize, empower and elevate its members to learn, grow and succeed while building this future.
Join us in the Builder DAO Discord and meet with us for Future Fridays, every Friday… let’s make this happen.
