How much did Instagram pay you for posting your last photo? Did Twitter pay you for your banger? How much are your Reddit karma points worth today? The answer for most people is zero, zilch, nada. Maybe if you've been a creator in the web2 space for a while, you've been able to actually earn money for your content, but if you are an average person, a casual poster who isn't a full-time creator, you've probably never earned a cent. Today, average people are getting paid to post on Farcaster. Not only is Warpcast expanding their rewards program to ensure 1,000 people a week get paid in USDC, but several channels have leaned into the legos on the Farcaster protocol to pay casters who regularly post great content in their channels.

The Clout of Cura

Cura, a new channel focused product from the team behind OpenRank, is unlocking a new meta for channels. Hosts can have more control over the content and automatically reward what the community loves most.

Members of /nature ($NATURE), /cryptosapiens ($CABAL), and /anime-manga ($ANIME) all have their own channel tokens, which have been airdropped to their communities over the past 90-100 days, rewarding both top-level casting and those who engage with those casts authentically. Thousands of average casters (who don't consider themselves content creators) got paid to participate and will continue to get weekly airdrops for their contributions for the next two to three years.

The Rewards of Rounds

Rounds.xyz lets channel hosts set up contests or themes for posting in their channel. They can set the rewards, cadence, and judges for which content in their channel shares a rewards pool. This could be a contest for a logo, a weekly theme, or anything else you can imagine. The /anime-manga channel uses subscription revenue to reward everyone who casts and gets engagement from channel members each week. Great content is literally rewarded by channel peers via likes and recasts.

The Magic of Moxie

While you may not see as much chatter on the timeline about Moxie, users with Creator Coins (the tokens formerly known as Fan Tokens) are still earning for their everyday posts on Farcaster. Moxie is invisible magic that automatically rewards great content. Likes, recasts, and comments all push Moxie to Creator Tokens. The more people post and engage inside of channels, the more Moxie the channel earns. By spending your time in a channel, you can impact the amount of Moxie going to community members and the channels and communities you care about.
