As an introduction to this article I would like to make two statements to be abundantly clear beyond a shadow of a doubt of my positions on these issues
I do not, and will never, support the actions of Hamas.
I do not think 9/11 was justified and I do not support the actions of the hijackers.
The reason I don't support these groups is because they were funded by the US and Israeli governments during the Cold War to counter Soviet influence. While the goal might have been understandable at the time, it backfired and created new enemies. These groups have caused immense suffering, and I don't want my tax dollars funding terror. There has to be a better way to address these issues, perhaps through diplomacy or focusing on the root causes of terrorism. i.e US Imperialism and meddling in that region.
Before you were born, the United States and Israeli governments sometimes participated in covertly funding and even creating certain groups to achieve their goals. This was done because they believed these groups could help defeat larger enemies.
Prominent Neo-cons like, Dennis Prager, openly admit to this strategy of funding scum to defeat other scum as seen in the video below.
Short-sighted thinking has led us into the situation we are in today where organizations we funded decades ago have now figured out how to use the same strategies we showed them against us. The irony, of course, is that nobody thought this through to its logical conclusion. If you fund radical groups and show them how to take down larger powers, who is to say they won't turn around and use that same strategy against you?
These were the same strategies that guerrilla warfare soldiers used in the original 13 colonies to claim their independence from Great Britain, with the exception that the original 13 colonies were not radical jihadists.
The idea behind these terrorist attacks is to provoke us into war and bankrupt the United States and Israel through wars against terror. Last time I checked, terror is not a f%cking country, it is an ideology.
If you want to stop terrorism, then stop funding these organizations to do your dirty work as it will always lead to unintended consequences. I'm not the first person to have stumbled upon this, not by a long shot, but it's important that US citizens understand why these events keep happening, what we can do to stop it, and prevent these types of attacks in the future.
After all that building up, let’s get to the main points of the article. Just like 9/11 was used as a justification to invade the Middle East, October 7th will be used the same way to justify the invasion of more countries, including Iran, which is four times larger in military power and sophistication than Iraq.
However, who is to partly blame for these problems? Western countries that use terror organizations as a tool to do their bidding and shape the Middle East region of the world to fit our hegemonic view of the region.
This is a problem, and we are addicted to funding radical groups. The first step in fixing a problem is to admit that you have a problem. We, The United States, are addicts and we need to get clean.
