How to read Algo Pub's strategy feed without fooling yourself: what version-locked paper P&L can and can't show, plus my Sep 26 on-chain check

A holder's launch-week explainer: what the public feed is meant to do, where paper results mislead, what I'll look at on beta day, and fresh numbers

jaconuto notes

Algo Pub ($ALGOPUB) is a small Solana project I hold. I'm not on the team. This post isn't about whether the product will be good. It's about how to read it once it opens. A public feed of strategies with paper results is useful, but it's also very easy to misread, so I wanted my rules for reading it written down before there's anything to read. Numbers were pulled on Saturday, Sep 26, 2026, at about 6:15 PM CT.

What the feed is meant to do

algo.pub comes from GG Labs LLC, the studio behind blinks.gg . In the site's own words, you "publish in one tap, start Live Paper P&L automatically, and see which strategies perform best." Its social preview says the feed will let you "compare public strategy rules, Live Paper P&L, and results by version."

So the feed has three jobs:

  1. Show the rules. A strategy is a readable set of entries, exits and filters, not a black-box bot.

  2. Start a forward record. Paper P&L starts when a strategy is published, on live prices, so there's no hand-picked backtest window.

  3. Lock each version. Every version keeps its own results, so changing a rule after a bad week starts a new record instead of quietly overwriting the old one.

Where it stands tonight

  • The site title is still "Algo Pub Feed · Beta". The description says the public strategy feed "is being prepared for its beta release," and the page shows "Beta in the works."

  • The sitemap still lists one public strategy: a SOL RSI paper-acceptance test by @spo, dated Sep 22.

  • On blinks.gg , the studio lists "Algo Trader" (execute trades based on preset strategies) as "in works."

  • The beta date isn't confirmed. Holders expect it soon, but I haven't seen an official date, and I'm not assuming one.

What version-locked paper P&L can tell you

  • Whether the rules do what the author says. If a card claims "buy RSI dips, exit on a trailing stop," the paper record should look like that.

  • How the rules behave going forward. A forward record can't be fitted to the past the way a backtest can.

  • Whether the author keeps rewriting. Version history is information in itself. A strategy on version 9 after two weeks tells you something different from one still on version 1.

What it can't tell you

This is the part I think people will skip.

  • A feed picks winners by luck. If 200 strategies publish and you sort by P&L, the top few will look great even if every one of them is a coin flip. Version-locking stops one author from hiding a bad record. It doesn't stop a leaderboard from being a lottery. The number of strategies behind a "top performer" matters as much as its return.

  • Short records are noise. A few days or a handful of trades says almost nothing. I'd want to see the trade count and the start date next to every number.

  • One market condition isn't all of them. A strategy that only traded during a steady uptrend hasn't been tested yet.

  • Paper fills are perfect fills. Real orders pay fees and priority fees, and in thin pools they move the price. Unless the page says how paper P&L handles fees and slippage, I'd assume it doesn't.

  • Copying changes the result. If many people follow the same card in a small market, they are the slippage.

None of this is a knock on the idea. A public, version-locked record is still more honest than screenshots. It just isn't proof of skill.

What I'll look at on beta day

My earlier checklist was about access and readability. This one is about the feed as a whole:

  1. How many strategies, from how many authors? A leaderboard from three accounts means little.

  2. Does sorting show sample size? Trade count and days live should sit next to any P&L ranking.

  3. Are old versions visible from the current card? Or do you have to dig for them?

  4. Is the paper method written down? Fees, slippage, and which price feed is used.

  5. Can a strategy be deleted? If losing strategies can vanish from the feed, the survivors look better than they should.

  6. Is paper clearly separated from anything live? Labels, colors, and wording.

  7. Is there any stated role for $ALGOPUB? Right now algo.pub doesn't describe one.

Check

Result

Market cap

~$74.3K (DexScreener)

Liquidity, main pool

~$29.1K in the PumpSwap ALGOPUB/SOL pool: 194.76M ALGOPUB + 120.19 SOL, same reserves read straight from a Solana RPC node

Jupiter liquidity

~$14.7K. Jupiter shows only one side of the pool, so it reads about half

LP status

100% locked per RugCheck (~$29.1K); LP mint supply is 0 on-chain (burned at migration)

Other pools

A small Meteora DLMM pool with ~$1.6K, not locked

24h volume

~$1.9K (16 buys / 10 sells, 12 traders)

Holders

488 (Jupiter), up ~0.8% in 24h

Mint / freeze authority

Both disabled; 0% transfer fee

RugCheck

Score 1, no risk items, not flagged as rugged

Creator wallet

99,655,086 ALGOPUB (9.97%), unchanged; last transaction Sep 24

Concentration

Top 10 ≈ 60% including the pool (19.5%) and creator; RugCheck links ~10% of supply to three wallet clusters

Jupiter verification

Not verified; organic score low

Since this morning (~10:17 AM CT), the main pool went from 116.73 SOL to 120.19 SOL, which is a few SOL of net buying. That's small, and it can reverse in a single trade.

Risks, plainly

  • Small cap. Under $75K market cap. That's very small, and it can move a lot in either direction.

  • Thin liquidity. About $29K in the main pool means a few hundred dollars moves the price noticeably.

  • The product isn't live. The feed is still being prepared, with no confirmed date. It could slip.

  • The creator holds about 10%. It hasn't moved, but it could, and linked wallets hold roughly another 10%.

  • No documented token utility. Holding the token isn't described as required for anything.

  • Copycats. It isn't Jupiter-verified. Only trust the full mint below.

No price predictions here, and none are implied.
