Let's Navigate Financial Crisis Together

Hi anon. Welcome to the show

Today I am starting down a path to share my story and lessons learned from being someone who graduated college just before the great financial collapse and generally struggled with figuring out how to emerge from a low-income dysfunctional upbringing into the shiny and perfect real world we all want to believe we live in. Where I’m at now certainly is better than where I was back then, but it was not easy getting to this point in life and I certainly could have used some practical, non-mainstream mentorship along the way to help navigate the pitfalls so many from my generation experienced.

This is from one millennial to anyone else struggling to navigate the economic and societal goings on of today (looking at you Gen Z).

Watching the events of late unfold (it’s December 13th, 2022 as I write this) is just too much to process regardless of how things are going for me personally. Meaning, I don’t have a ton to complain about in my personal life these days relative to where I was a few short years ago. Incredibly, I’ve managed to dig myself out of debt through a combination of learning to be frugal against every instinct I have, doing a bunch of side gigs along my full-time jobs over the past years to supplement my income towards paying down all debts and (of course), hitting it pretty big with cryptocurrency investing.

So what can you possibly learn from me and my journey? I can say for certain that this won’t be anything like the Bitboy or crypto influencer nonsense that has popped up over the years. Those people don’t know what they’re talking about and it’s not repeatable. Plus it’s not ethical, and probably not legal, to just spew nonsense about investing when you have no legal credentials to do so.

What you’ll see here is not financial advice, but strategies to incrementally evaluate your life, finances and the world at large and figure out how you might fit into it and live the best possible life for yourself. I am not the model of perfection that I wish I was, but I will admit that through the years I have created a pretty decent framework for evaluating life choices and multiple paths around personal, professional and even financial development. I want to walk you through my journey as best I can and truly hope it lends some type of benefit to you personally.

As for my identity and who I really am - well this should be interesting. I am going to keep my identity private (for now). As I mentioned, I am a founder of a startup and I think, at least for the next 6 months or so (maybe longer, maybe shorter) I want to write as if I don’t have any potential liabilities that could be affected by my unrestrained thoughts and sharing them. I’d appreciate not being doxxed against my wishes - but if you’re truly interested in any points I make in the coming entries, please do feel free to reach out directly to me or comment on the posts and I will happily engage you!

To anyone who’s along for the ride, thank you. I was a syndicated blogger back in the bronze age and while I’ve debated whether to enter the public eye again and to what degree, I feel most natural when I am able to share my successes and struggled with others who may feel the same and want to connect. It feels great to be publishing personal development content again - thank you for joining me!
