Rest Day 8: Minting Ma’ruf Sunday

A Digital Monument to Pedagogical Consistency & Real-World Utility Ledger Timestamp: Sunday, February 22, 2026 | Asset Status: 1/1 Genesis NFT

Sunday, February 22, 2026, the 4th day of Ramadan, became one of the warmest chapters in my long journey as The Phoenix Educator in the Web3 world. Like the NFT collections I mint one by one on OpenSea, every moment of that day felt like a new layer added to the metadata of my life—full of intrinsic value, irreplaceable, and ready to be passed down as an eternal digital legacy. That morning, the sun had just shown its face with blazing heat, as if the blockchain network was experiencing a high gas fee spike during peak hours.

Cache Cleaning & Family Hug

The scorching weather pierced right to the bones, but I still woke up early, like a founder monitoring the wallet dashboard before the market opens. This rest day, I filled with simple yet meaningful household tasks: sweeping the front yard covered in dust, like clearing the browser cache before deploying a new smart contract, then folding the pile of clean laundry, similar to organizing assets folders on IPFS so the collection stays neat and easily accessible to the community.

When I finally sat relaxed on the terrace, enjoying the still-warm breeze, suddenly my youngest child came from behind. Their small but tight hug felt like a hug emoji suddenly appearing in our family Discord server. “Dad, make me some tea, please, to go with the snacks,” they asked in a spoiled voice. I smiled, got up, and made a glass of warm tea—not just ordinary tea, but one I imagined as a warm mint NFT: refreshing, comforting, and with the utility to calm the heart amid life's volatility. We sat together, chatting lightly while dipping biscuits into the tea, like a bonding session in the voice channel after a long minting session.

Ali Imran Drop

By midday, the sky changed dramatically. Heavy rain poured down, replacing the earlier blazing heat, as if the crypto market that was bullish suddenly turned bearish and dumped. The sky was dark and cloudy, but it brought calm instead. Under the pouring rain, I opened the digital mushaf on my tablet—or more precisely, the physical mushaf that had long accompanied me—and continued reciting Surah Ali Imran. When I reached the powerful verse, ayat 104: “Let there be a group among you who call ˹others˺ to goodness, encourage what is good, and forbid what is evil—they are the ones who will be successful.” (QS. Ali Imran: 104).

That verse felt like a fresh revelation dropping straight into my soul wallet. In the noisy Web3 world—full of scams, rug pulls, FOMO, and greed—I felt that call so relevant. As an educator in the NFT and blockchain space, I'm not just a creator minting works on OpenSea; I'm part of “ummatan yad‘una ilal-khairi” (a community calling to goodness). I must enjoin what is right: educate about wallet security, fair launches, utility over hype, and building solid communities. And forbid what is wrong: warn about phishing links, fake mint sites, or projects that are just pump and dump. That verse is profound, like a timeless whitepaper, reminding me that true success (muflihun) isn't measured by the floor price of a collection, but by the positive impact we leave on the chain of life.

Seed Phrase & Soccer

Toward the afternoon, the rain stopped. I took the kids to the front of the house. We watered the small newly planted plants—seedlings I likened to seed phrases: they must be consistently cared for to grow into big trees that bear sustainable fruit. After that, of course, we played soccer in the yard. The kids' kicks were wild but full of enthusiasm, like rookie traders just entering the market—sometimes on target, sometimes off, but there's always a lesson in every goal scored or conceded.

Soulbound Stories on Motorbike

Approaching Maghrib, the three of us rode the motorcycle around the neighborhood. The evening breeze felt cool after the rain, the kids sitting behind, hugging my waist tightly. They told stories about “their world on the motorbike”: seeing birds fly like surveillance drones, street lights turning on one by one like nodes coming online in the network, and friends passing by like holders greeting each other in Twitter Spaces. I just listened, occasionally responding with laughter or simple questions, like a moderator facilitating an AMA session—not needing to talk much, just being present and making them feel heard.

At the end of the ride, as the Maghrib call to prayer sounded, I parked the motorbike in front of the house. The kids ran inside, still full of stories. I stood for a moment on the terrace, gazing at the sky turning orange. That day, February 22, 2026, wasn't just an ordinary rest day. It was a new mint moment in the documentary series of my life: a story behind every NFT work I create. Because on OpenSea, digital assets may change floor price every second, but true value—the hugs of children, raindrops, sacred verses, and small stories on the motorbike—are soulbound tokens that can't be sold, only inherited.

And tomorrow, I'll mint a new story again, educate the community, and continue calling to goodness in this chaotic Web3 space. Because as that verse reminds us: they are the successful—those who don't just hold, but also build, care, and share. To be continued...
