She does not have
to wear a red
dress to seduce
I've already
fallen for
her charms a long time ago.
Writing with a fountain pen brings me great joy. And with that, comes a love for special inks. So when I came across the Inkvent Calendar of ink maker Diamine last year, I knew that this would be the one I wanted. It was already their fifth, and they continued making one in this year as well. Every day an exclusive ink is hiding behind a little door. It's not only fun, but also an inspiration for a fun project.
Every day, I let the ink, which is a special colour with a jolly season inspired name, inspire me to create a poem and a little drawing. I use a dip pen and a fine brush on a sheet in my aquarel note book. That makes the ink of the writing run a little bit, but I think that has a lovely effect. Of each piece, I take a photo and create an NFT out of it, basically giving you an onchain advent calendar, too.
Some days, I struggle to find the right poem. It can be that I don't really find one, or that I find several. The poem above is from a day on which I found several. The name of the ink was Ruby Taffetta. I did not know what that meant, but a quick online search taught me that taffetta is a type of fabric, and ruby, well, that's a certain shade of red.
What inspires you in the season to be jolly?

Of course, I'm not the only one being inspired by the lovely inks from the Inkvent Calendar. Many talented people share what they create with it online. Like in this video, about the same ink. Enjoy.
