This is a walk through on creating an online non-custodial wallet, this is vastly different from creating a custodial wallet on Robinhood, Coinbase, or Paypal. A online wallet doesn't use a hardware device like keystone or ledger and a non-custodial wallet requires us to secure our keys (we backup the mnemonic phrase).

1. Visit the official MetaMask website (https://metamask.io/) either using a Firefox or Chrome browser and click on the "Download" button. 2. Choose the appropriate browser extension: Select your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge) and follow the prompts to install the MetaMask extension. 3. Open the MetaMask extension: Once installed, click on the MetaMask icon in the extensions area of your browser. 4. Create a new wallet: Click on "Get Started" and then "Create a Wallet." 5. Agree or decline data sharing: You may be presented with a prompt regarding data sharing; choose your preference. 6. Set a strong password: Create a secure password that you will use to access your MetaMask wallet. 7. Secure your recovery phrase: MetaMask will generate a 12-word recovery phrase for you. Write it down and store it in a safe place. This is critical for recovering your wallet if you lose access. 8. Confirm your recovery phrase: You will be asked to confirm your recovery phrase by selecting the words in the correct order to complete the setup process. 9. Complete the setup: After successfully confirming your recovery phrase, your MetaMask wallet will be ready. 10. Fund your wallet: You can now fund your MetaMask wallet by purchasing Ethereum or other cryptocurrencies directly, transferring from another wallet, or using a decentralized exchange. 11. Manage your wallet securely: Regularly update your password and keep your recovery phrase secured. Enable any additional security settings such as biometric authentication if applicable. 12. Explore and connect: You can connect your MetaMask wallet to various decentralized applications (dApps) to start using your crypto.
