How brands like Nike can save themselves

It is no secret that Nike utilizes unethical overseas labor. It is no secret that all of their materials and practices are not as sustainable as possible.

The future generations care very much for these ideals. Sustainability and ethics will have to be a core part of a business in the future.

I had a daydream that Nike made a post that went something like this:

“Hello world, 100% of all Nike product manufacturing is now sustainable and ethical.

We are asking YOU (the community) to design Nike products. We are launching a new app that makes creating apparel easier than ever before. Our goal was to create a complex, robust app for creators. But make it elegant and easy to use.

We want to share revenue with all of our new creators! We want creators to represent our brand and sell their own custom Nike products.

We want it as easy as possible for creators to create.

We have new manufacturing facilities all across the world! We implore you to apply to be a Nike Garment Pro or a Nike Sneaker Pro. These new facilities run on sustainable energy AND all of the fabrics and materials are ethically sourced.

We, as Nike, realized that our community is large enough to make a positive impact on the world. Please help us create a world for creators. “
