zkSync Era (Twitter : https://twitter.com/zksync) is a layer 2 solution on Ethereum powered by ZK-rollups. Previously zkSync Era was called zkSync 2.0 while zkSync Lite was called zkSync 1.0.
Matter Labs CEO Alex Gluchowski has explicitly said that the zkSync token will launch in around a year’s time to decentralize the sequencer in an article from The Block.
This gives us one year to establish an active on-chain profile on zkSync Era. Similar to Arbitrum and Optimism, we anticipate that transaction history on Zksync Era will be the primary criterion for the $ZKS airdrop.
zkSync Lite transactions (trading on ZigZag) and Gitcoin Donations (they had zkSync checkout and ZK Tech rounds) are also likely to provide a bonus to your airdrop.
Getting started on zkSync Era
Start by adding zkSync Era to your Metamask using Chainlist.

Step 1 (Bridges):
Next, you’ll need to bridge over some assets to zkSync Era. To do this, you can use either the official zkSync Era bridge or Orbiter.
Official bridge: https://portal.zksync.io/bridge
Assets supported: ETH, USDC
Network supported: Ethereum mainnet
Orbiter: https://www.orbiter.finance/
Assets supported: ETH
Network supported: All Layer 2s (from zkSync Lite/1.0 as well)
Orbiter
Step 2 (DeFi):
There are three DEX options available for you to interact with on zkSync Era. You can swap tokens and/or add liquidity to the following:
SyncSwap: https://syncswap.xyz/
Mute: https://app.mute.io/
SpaceFi: https://swap-zksync.spacefi.io/
SyncSwap
You can also lend and borrow on Nexon Finance.
Nexon Finance: https://app.nexon.finance/
Step 3 (NFT Marketplace):
Create your NFTs and list them for sale or simply do some trading.
Mint Square: https://mintsquare.io/
Mint Square
Step 4 (Layer3):
Complete the tasks at Layer3.
Step 4 (zkSync Lite and Gitcoin):
Finally, get some transactions on zkSync Lite (bridge using Orbiter) by making some trades on ZigZag and donate in the next Gitcoin round.
That should be everything for now. We hope you found it helpful in getting started with zkSync! Good luck hunting airdrops.
