The power and sacred nature of sound is an infinite universe. It's exciting to have the opportunity to experience music in new and unpopular dimensions. The certainty of music not being merely a form of entertainment is something I live by. I think aligning myself to live Music and Creativity in a sacred way, is what allows me to receive new tools and information that transforms my perspective and work. Don't you love to discover new things to learn and experiment along the way?
This article works as a channel to share this powerful knowledge with people who share this passion for the language of Music like I do. Thank you for tuning in.
Today we will be talking about precise temperament tuning and its major significance. Let's dive in!
As most of us know, Math and Music are actually one. The language that we can see in the form in geometry is also just the sound the we enjoy. Everything is frequency, everything vibrates.
Pythagoras, was one of the people who understood this idea and he's credited with discovering that musical harmony arises from simple numerical relationships between vibrating strings. This discovery happened after he heard pleasing sounds coming from a blacksmith's shop and realized that hammers of different weights produced different pitches in mathematical ratios. He experimented this same concept with strings and he found that dividing a string into simple ratios produced harmonious intervals.
For example, when you press a string at its midpoint (a 2:1 ratio), you get an octave - the same note but higher. A 3:2 ratio produces a perfect fifth, while 4:3 gives you a perfect fourth. These ratios are what we use today to create musical scales and is known as Just Temperament.
But! If you start to populate a scale with the intervals of 3/2 as a major third, like Pythagoras proposed, after a while it becomes impossible to double the octave through a major third. This is why Pythagorean comma was invented, so it makes up for this slight difference that this length of interval creates.
What this means is basically that this approach is not truly perfectly harmonic. It does not reflect a perfect geometric correspondence.
Precise temperament tuning replaces that 3/2 major third interval with 1.26 which is the cube root of 2. And using this interval approach we can find that not only it can provide a perfect octave but also each note in the scale has a perfect digital sum of 9.
This tuning approach is a tangible form of Sacred Geometry, which is the divine blueprint of consciousness and energy. The term Geo actually comes from Gaia, Mother Earth. And Metro, refers to Measure, everything is expression in geometry. This expression is embedded code of existence, woven into the very fabric of the universe.
So why shouldn't sound and music have the same code?
The signature of the source, is balance and harmony in creation. We shouldn't impose slight differences or make up for rules that are not perfect. I mean, apparently for most of us, it has worked like this for many years, but this major insight reveal a truth that now allows us to experience music in a revealing way. Opening the path for new possibilities in divine harmonic perfection.
Our modern society, for the most part, has molded our culture and minds to believe that Music is merely a form of entertainment and pleasure right?. In addition to that, the speed technological and human events is astonishing and can constitute a barrier to creating and also appreciating music and arts with the willingness it deserves. Maybe the real challenge with Music is not the visibility within the algorithms, or the fame, social media or monetization. Maybe the real challenge is not a matter of audio quality or the tools we use. Art and Music comes down to Feelings and Experiences.
What can we feel if we have the right aperture? What can we feel if we explore beyond the rules?
What if it was the perpetuation of the traditional language and way of listening to music, based on our habitual sensory experience, was what is limiting the perception of new musical dimensions? Scales, Key and Tempo grids, traditional tuning and just temperament, constitute the musical gravity of this language -our innate sense of musical "weight." What if we go take off to different musical planets and dimensions removing these rules?
The possibilities are infinite when we know Music is spiritual technology capable of transforming consciousness and revealing the hidden dimensions of reality. Able to reveal reveal cosmic knowledge and universal truths. Geometry not only the divine blueprint of creation, it's the music we listen with our sight. Is it possible that all that we see is a musical harmony beyond or below our audible spectrum. Is it possible that Sound emanating out from the Silence is what separates light from darkness?
I will close this article with the invitation to explore this type of approach and tuning. Hope this resonates with you at some degree, I just really enjoy this types of discussion around music I feel the personal responsibility to share it with the world and the friends that support me along the way.
I have one .tun file (VST Tuning File) in 432 Hertz Precise Temperament Tuning, a very rare gem that you've unlocked just by reading this entire article. Here's the Google Drive Link for it.
You're very welcome! Now, you can simply add this to your synths and virtual instruments in the tuning section and start your Sonic Sacred Geometry journey today.
