The obvious trend at this point is not far off, by my calculations it will definitely be in the next 97 years.
Please note
I've created Twitter lists with all the projects that fit into the "Social" category. These lists are unique. They help you follow all the projects on Twitter at a glance
This article was written on October 21.
Before we start exploring Social Networking, I want to say that this is a translation of my article for the Russian-speaking population. I decided to adapt it to an English-speaking audience for greater reach.
There will be no complicated technical information in this article.
We take a topic, discuss it, and at the end of this topic are attached sources of information for more in-depth study.
The Social Graph is a database of all your actions on the blockchain. The graph stores your social profile. The goal of the social graph is to index information into the blockchain as quickly and accurately as possible.
What are the most popular social graphs at the moment?
Lens Protocol
CyberConnect
Social graphs are the foundation and we have to separate them from social networks. After all, it is in fact a database to which social networks are connected.
Since we have several databases (social graphs), each of the social graphs will have its own ecosystem. Like blockchains, graphs build and evolve their own ecosystem.
I created a separate Twitter list for you. With all the currently known social graphs.
To follow them and not miss the alpha, just subscribe to this list and check in once a day for 2 minutes.

Social networks have a different function. The task of social networks is to take data from the social graph as quickly as possible and display it correctly. A social network pulls from a huge database only the information that that particular social network needs.
One Social Graph, that's one social profile. The more Social Graphs you have, the more Social Profiles you will have. The marketplace may monopolize one Social Graph and you will own one Social Profile, but more likely there will be multiple Social Profiles and a huge number of Social Networks.
Social networks choose the Social Graph. Right now, the most social networks are in the Lens Protocol ecosystem.
There are exceptions when the social network is not connected to the social graph, such projects are few, but they exist. In such social networks, you re-create a profile, add a bio and come up with a nickname. And if the project uses a social graph, the first time you connect to a social network, you will already have a fully filled profile, there will be a bunch of your posts, will be your nickname, avatar, etc.
EXAMPLE: I've been using Facebook my whole life. Russia is blocking Facebook. I just connect to vk and all the info from fb is now displayed in vk, just in a different interface.
I have compiled for you absolutely every social networking site that exists right now into two lists.
My advice is to start reading the first list and research projects from there. After studying the first list, move on to the second list. Or just add 2 lists and read them as a feed. Why is that?
On the second list, there are a huge number of projects that are in the early stages.

Now we organize all the social networks from the above lists into ecosystems. At the moment there are 3 most popular ecosystems: Lens Protocol, CyberConnect and FarCaster. Yes, there is also DeSo, but there will be a separate talk for them later.
At the moment, the fastest growing ecosystem. It is built on the Polygon blockchain. Here you can see a large number of mobile applications, marketplaces and cool social networks. The creator of Lens, is the man who created AAVE, the protocol on which the entire DEFI segment is based. A guy with connections and a lot of credibility among the community.
To work in this network, you need a profile. To get a social profile, you have to create one first or buy one on OpenSea. It costs 40-60 bucks. (But I suggest trying to get one for free instead of buying one).

I want to highlight projects that are worth paying special attention to:
https://lenster.xyz/ - social network
LensPort.io - is a marketplace where you can buy other people's posts. (Note this)
LensTube.xyz - video hosting
orb.ac - app social
You can see that more bureaucratic graph, there are a lot of investors sitting here. Their ecosystem is growing very fast too, but not like Lens. This social graph is not like Lens, they are creating more interesting tools for creating their communities at the moment.

I really like this social network. First of all, it is not a social graph, but an open source social network. Only this project, a huge recognition among developers, you can see a huge amount of community development, which is not aimed at making a profit.
They have a great app on the iPhone and MacBook.

To get an invite to the application, write to the main developer - https://twitter.com/dwr

Blockchain-based social networks are just developing and there are not as many as there will be in the future. A lot of useful information is published personally by developers or CEOs. Many whitelists, for example for getting Lens profiles, were published by developers back in June.
I collected Twitter profiles of developers and made two lists with them. The analogy is the same, the first list with popular developers and CEOs. The second list is with the less popular ones.
