Hello, friends. I just looked and it was a year ago yesterday when you last heard from me. 25 songs always feels about right and that's how many I've put together just for you. You can listen on Apple Music, Spotify and even YouTube Music, if that's your thing. Make sure you listen in order at least once. No cheating. You'd only be cheating yourself after all.
Every year around this time I spend hours listening to a handful of tracks, attempting to meticulously order them so as to flow just right. Sometimes the sequence reveals itself and other times... Well, this was just one of those years, wasn't it? Even for an pretty optimistic person, this was a tough one. Just kinda feels like one thing after another. But music was still being made, played and yes, generated. Alas, you will not be hearing any generated music this year, at least not that I know of.
There was something about this year. Something about so much of the rock music that felt throwback to me. I lost count of all the shoegaze-y albums and other things that sounded 1990s to my ears. I'm here for it! Speaking of albums, when the last time you listened to one all the way through? I posted this list on my blog, but since it's probably only AI bots that read anything on my blog, I'll save you a click.
