Thoughtful writing! Honestly I do have one point to raise here: the place feels alive to me still. People do see issues and those are in fact real and yet it still works great and does amazing things and yes what an upheaval but in the end it’s an ethical platform because of its crypto rails and the rest of the world cannot be forced to figure out why that makes it better… so I empathize with the VCs and Dan and V but in the end the fact that the growth metrics didn’t work out doesn’t mean the platform is a failure, it’s instead an indication that the lifestyle and interactions we have here are just not going to go mainstream the way Facebook did because Facebook didn’t have to compete with Facebook.
In the end Farcaster can stay niche forever and if it does, I probably won’t ever really have a cause to leave. Maybe the scaling expectations themselves are the problem and if we could just learn to enjoy what we have here we could learn to just be *fine* with that because this is a breeding ground for ideas and a niche where idea people can thrive.
