This historical monument is one of the oldest works of the Islamic period in Khorasan and displays a magnificent display of brick architecture from the 5th century AH. The Arsalan Jabez Mausoleum is located in the Sangbast area, on the way from Mashhad to Toos, and was built on the orders of Arsalan Jabez, the famous general of Sultan Mahmud of Ghaznavi. The building is recognizable from afar with its tall conical dome, square plan, and simple brick decorations, and is known as one of the first examples of tomb construction in Iran.
