In January 2025 my fiance got knee surgery and it seriously impacted our lives because we walk a lot. When we left NYC we knew we wouldn't be walking as much so we made it our mission to go on walks every day, but after the surgery that stopped for months. Shortly after that I had a tumor removed from my head and then we ended up buying a house and that consumed us and by January 1st, 2026 I weighed 203 lbs which is for me about 10 lbs overweight.
So my new years resolution was to get in better shape. I made it my goal to stop eating late at night, walking more and doing some sort of minimal exercise every day and now less than two months later I am down to my target weight of 193 lbs.
But here's the funny thing, that has been my target weight because never in my adult life have I been able to get below it. In fact, I have been hovering around 193 for nearly a month now despite keeping up with all my good habits. It's such a weird phenomena.
Now I know if I dieted seriously, or went to the gym every day I could get below it. In high school when I worked out daily I wrestled at 171 and played football at 180, but I don't want that life. I want something sustainable and that has always been 193 lbs. It's been like that since I was in my 20's and I have no idea why it's that magic number.
