What if you were given the task of unemploying 50% of the global labor force. Would you do it? No. Most of you would not, if that was the defined goal. But you weren't given those directives explicitly. You were presented with open ended tools and sold a dream of building the future. You were also told you have to do it fast or you will fall behind everyone else. So... off to the races! You will build most people out of their jobs, and you will do it because capitalism and the desire to 'win' is too strong. I have two predictions. One: Most of us will regret participating in this, once we see the actual results of our work. Two: Once we realize the result, many will try to undo it, unsuccessfully. This will lead to a surge of investment in the alt space driven by despiration. The next alt boom comes from the fallout of AI destroying the labor market and those unemployed workers and families taking a last chance shot on communities in the alt space - and they will want just that - communites of humans. They will want nothing to do with the agents that stole their income and stability from them. There is an antithesis to every thesis. The alt coin space might be full of agents now, but the pendulum will swing, and this space ultimately becomes humanities last hope in the end. The last haven. The last chance at an opportunity to provide for your family. The next boom comes from the biggest bust. And it will be the biggest boom of them all. Because it will actually mean everything.
