I wonder if there's a kind-of/level of thinking that can only be achieved in brains that have exercised the (hard won) muscle of <thinking-as-engineering> lens. You can only have that kind of thought, because you had all these other adjacent thoughts (loops, logic, recursions)
AND then, on the other hand, all the kinds of creative thoughts that may be excluded from you, because of all that hard-won <thinking-as-engineering> lens, and now blinder.
