I'm three weeks in to a keto-ish diet
- very low carbs (no bread, rice, pasta, etc)
- little to no sugar. only a few grams here and there from fruit
- no alcohol
- focusing on high protein, fat, and fiber (meat, fish, vegetables, avocado, evoo)
- also avoiding all processed/packaged foods as much as possible. eating high quality whole foods
experience so far:
- had 1.5 days of keto flu 4 days in (terrible)
- appetite is lower and stabilized. less cravings, eating less naturally. after the first week, I noticed my taste buds adapted to really liking "healthy" food.
- went from 203 -> 193 lbs during this time
- better sleep
- completely different relationship with my body of what "feeling full" looks like. I don't feel like "ugh i'm so full i ate too much and then go into a coma". Instead I just lose the desire to eat, but don't feel bloated or stuffed. It's not quite similar to the satiation I'd get from eating a ton of carbs though. it's different. hard to explain.
- no crash any time of the day after eating food
