BazAR Collection: Bremen Streets
Bremen may not get much love from some, but it holds a special place in my heart. I moved here almost three years ago for university and found this northern German city to be quite beautiful. Bremen is rich in Hanseatic history with pockets of alternative flair. I’ve uploaded two collections to the new BazAR powered by AO that capture the medieval old town and the heavily graffitied yet unique “Viertel” neighborhood. Collection #1: Bremen Old TownBremen Old Town collection page.Bremen Old Tow...

BazAR on AO
The AO testnet went live in February, and we couldn't wait to integrate our projects into the hyper-parallel computer and its growing community. After months of building, we are excited to announce the launch of BazAR on AO.What's New?UCM runs on AO: Transactions are fast and can run in parallel, with data still fully stored on Arweave.BazAR profile agent: BazAR profiles are now more than just an Arweave wallet. Users have a smart agent process running on AO that serves as their pro...

Building a lifestyle network on the permaweb
I spend a lot of time on social media for work, and in my freetime. Social media platforms excel at capturing our attention by providing a hyper-curated feed of content tailored to our interests. Web2 social networks mastered this art. But there is something missing that I don’t think could be solved with traditional web2 social media. Humans are not one dimensional. We have many interests, partake in numerous activities and belong to diverse social circles. Our online identity should reflect...

Using UDL with Helix and BazAR
Last week brought exciting developments to the permaweb with Forward Research's announcement of the Universal Data License (UDL) v0.2, introducing new licensing updates and improved usability. In this post, I'll detail the latest UDL updates and provide a practical guide on utilizing UDL with Helix and BazAR.What is UDL?UDL allows creators to establish their own terms for content usage on Arweave, while developers can permissionlessly license this data within their applications. UDL...

Arweave is still cypherpunk
Following Vitalik’s December blog post, “Make Ethereum Cypherpunk Again” I’ve seen more conversations online about crypto getting back to its cypherpunk roots. Over the years, the crypto community has strayed from its initial motivation to pioneer a fairer, more secure era of the web, a vision originally revolutionized by the cypherpunk community in the 90s and 2000s. Until now, crypto has struggled to fulfill its initial promises, facing challenges such as scalability issues, over-centraliza...
