#26BooksIn2026 Update I am a wee bit behind on my reading schedule, but I'm about to go on a spree to catch it up. I'm about 1/2 through 1984, then after that, I'm reading Chilling Effect by Valerie Valdes (a comedy space opera that includes psychic cats), then following that up with Julia by Sandra Newman (a retelling of 1984 through a feminist lens using Julia's perspective), and then after that, The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers (first in a series, and I bought physical copies of the whole five-book Wayfarer series which came today because I ADORE Becky Chambers Monk & Robot series, so I want to read her other stuff, too.) So that's eight books I've got ready to go as soon as I finish 1984. Oh, make that nine. I'm gonna tackle Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins after I finish the first book in the Becky Chambers Wayfarer series 🤣 Flip-flopping between dystopian critiques of political and social conditions to solarpunk and hopecore scifi cuz balance is a necessity.
