In preparation for tomorrows MN anti-ice protest I’m reminded of my trip to the twin cities just a few shorts weeks ago. And less than a week before Renee Good was fatally shot mercilessly by an armed gestapo.
My friend Scott while touring me around the city, made sure I not only learned it’s past history but it’s VERY important recent political history. Giving me context to the neighborhoods and areas not far from where him and his family live, work, and experience life.
We stopped by Moon Palace Books which is on the same block as the police station that was burned down after George Floyd was unalived ruthlessly by police. At the book store they were handing out free anti 🧊 banners created by the Cooperation Cannon River.
Given the discrimination of Somali Daycares that was happening as I was in MN, and my disgust for 🧊, I was inclined to grab one. So I could bring back to LA to use as a way to hold solidarity for the ppl of MN but also use here at protests as you see in the short clip.
It’s but a simple banner but connects us all in the shared struggle for our rights and our lives. I have and will always be active and outspoken on the gruesome lack of humanity authority has in the US. We must stand up for each other, we must fight the powers of fascism, we must do the good fight ✊
