Obol Network

Today I want to tell you about the Obol project and about the activities that we can begin to perform. So, the Obol Network is an ecosystem for trust minimized staking. We can join a cluster and run testing and maintain the workability of the distributed validator.

The main missions and objectives of the Obol:

  • Open Source

The Obol Network will forever be open source and permissionless.

  • Public Good

All fee's collected in Obol V1 will be granted through retroactive public goods funding.

  • Trust Minimised

Obol is committed to using technology and cryptography to reduce the need to trust any single staking operator.  You can learn more about the project and the team at website, and I'll tell you how we can participate today. To date, 2 important programs have been launched. This is the Bia Test Network and the Obol Ambassador program. Now I will tell you more about each of them.

Obol Bia Testnet

So, the Bia Test Network is officially launched. Bia is the second testnet from Obol after Athena where more than 200 distributed validator clusters were running.

The team gained a lot of experience in the first test network and is now launching a second test network. To get into it, you need to team up with at least 4 people and create your own cluster and be sure to submit an application form for participation You can also join a cluster with other testnet participants in the discord

I recommend to hurry up, because there are a lot of people who want to take part.

The main task of the BIA testnet is to see more than 500 active clusters with more than 5,000 participants activated through the launcher and successfully operating for more than 30 days.

I also draw your attention to the fact that the BIA test network is an unincentivized testnet.

Obol Ambassador Program

Main the purpose of the Obol Ambassador Program is to help scale the ability for the project to further its mission to secure, scale, and decentralize proof-of-stake blockchains, with the initial goal of bringing Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) to Ethereum.

There will be three types of ambassadors (corresponding to the different types of activities):

  • Content & Engagement Ambassadors

  • Technical Ambassadors

  • Localization Ambassadors

Each POAP given for an activity will also have an associated activity type. An ambassador must have at least 5 POAPs in a particular type to become an ambassador of that type. In other words, in order to become a Junior Ambassador, an individual must first earn at least 5 POAPs in one activity type.

Obol Ambassadors will be rewarded with access, network, and opportunities to further their personal brand, experience, and knowledge along with special low-mint Obol-branded digital items and swag. Examples of rewards include: Obol Contributors Junior Ambassadors Senior Ambassadors Ambassador Categories
