Ruger is a new generation artist who infuses Afro-pop into Jamaican pop. His real name is Michael Adebayo Ruger. He claims to have been born into a Christian and that his music career started as a choir boy in church. Ruger is known for his eye-patch and everyone is confused if he’s really one-eyed or if eye-patch is just a trademark of his own.

Ruger is signed to D Prince’s Record Label. Ruger is popular for his two EP projects: PANDEMIC THE EP and the SECOND WAVE the EP.

PANDEMIC THE EP is made of songs like Ruger, Abu Dhabi, Bow, Monalisa, Bounce, Yekpa. The standout song in this ep is Bow where he praises God and also Abu Dhabi where he says it was inspired by a trip sponsored by his boss D Prince and it talks about love, riding a Tesla(classy automobiles), and asking the girl to state the amount of the dowry he should pay and means of payment.

Ruger blows minds with his outstanding talent when he released his second EP, THE SECOND WAVE which has been topping charts on streaming platforms. With songs like DIOR which has had most Tiktok challenges considering the way, people want to rock and look good in Fashion brands like Dior. Other songs include Snapchat, Useless, Champion which happens to be my favorite song from the EP where he talks about his success story and where he is at the moment no can bring him coz he’s the real champion says he’s not yet fully there he’s just testing the success and still thank God for his blessings. This is so relatable.

Ruger is one of those artists that you can play the music continuously on replay without getting bored. He’s so talented and openly getting love for his talent. We must expect much from him in the coming years on the African music scene and a lot of Live performances.
