Just started working
My mind is already torn
Is this what I’ve been working towards these past years?
Reading, writing and agitating the theoretical brain cells all throughout university
Five years of this, for this?
37 hours of desk staring on datasheets to satisfy the higher-ups
It might come with an average salary that should make anyone happy
Money to spend on holidays and eating out
But I’m not happy
Were my expectations too high?
Should I just suck it up?
Maybe find another job?
I’m not hallucinating. I can’t endure this long term.
Wage-slaving is all I see, in meeting rooms I don’t care about
Shitty canteen food, day-in-day-out - might even be the worst of it.
Overhearing colleagues speaking about the their stupid kids, the rat race and their recent travels
Wilted souls of routine, flatline life
Will this be me in a few years?
It might already be…
Breaking the meta will be my saviour.
