The quest for accurate trait representation continues! The BGAN community has been on a roll with updating traits. There has also been some talks about moving BGANs on chain, which is a great idea, but it will require the completion of updating the collections’ metadata. So far it seams HYPE AFs are the only BGANs the community has found consensus on. Maybe they will be our first candidate.

BokkyPooBah came by to say “gm” and share their ænus dApp they’ve been building. It allows users to “monitor for the latest mint, or for example, the block of the BGANPUNKV2 contract deployment where the first 34 bastards were minted” (link to Bokky sharing on discord). There’s also an “advanced ENS search” function, and likely other features kept under wraps.

For those unfamiliar with Bokky: they’ve been in the space for a long time. They were the first person outside of the LarvaLabs team to claim a CryptoPunk. And it’s unsurprising they were early to BGANs as well. With the more time spent following Bastard Discord and twitter, it is very evident our community is full of people who have been in the space for more than 5 years. This helps with the credibility of BGAN Punks. As new-comers seek experience, they find veterans identifying themselves with BGANs.

ETH is bleeding, but BGANs have been sending it. People are clearly hunting for grails and there’s no doubt some of the profits have gone towards floor BGANs. It also looks like GLITCHY AF is dominating sales. Maybe a new trait takes over the meta as HOODIES become unobtainable. (Update 7/29) ETH has started climbing and outperforming BGANs for the first time in months. There may be some good buying opportunities as people seek liquidity. There’s been a momentous effort to amend the Constitution in order to give rights to xBGAN and xBGANWETH holders, and to improve built-in protections for the DAO. Unlike a lot of other DAOs the Bastard DAO does not have a core improvement team, or a treasury initiatives team, ect. Bastard DAO is truly organized by the community. Any one is able to submit proposals and run growth initiatives. All it takes is holding one BGAN Punk V2 NFT in your wallet. But by expanding to give DAO rights to the NFTX $BGAN Vault participants, it gives agency to those who support BGAN Punks while also incentivizing NFTX liquidity. Our Bastard DAO really is a unique experiment in small governing bodies, as we have a large difference in nationality and political leanings across collectors. Yet we’re all able to get along and find compromises within debates. Our culture of inclusivity has really shined during this DAO growth initiative.
Printer Punk and the Social Media Team has created new Discord stickers for the community. Check them out here. Community member Sexas has also taken the initiative of creating and adding liquidity to the NFTX GLICPIXXX V2 Vault.

Wassoshi has put out an all call for a developer position for building the BGAN Market place. There is already an approved proposal to pay the team responsible for launching the Marketplace, and Rosco has done a fair amount of the back end work already. Completing this Marketplace will aid in streamlining the BGAN experience from research to checkout. And signals to the NFT community that BGANs are here to stay.
The market cap of NFTs probably isn’t something most of us consider when we’re thinking about which collection to buy into. As the culture and ecosystem surrounding BGANs grows, watching what effects the market cap is something to keep an eye on.

888mooncat has been working hard to on-board new writers to help inform and grow our community. This is a major effort to get more eyes on BGAN Punks. There is also a lot of technical misunderstanding when it comes to GAN and the GLIC ecosystem, too. Just having these resources available will help educate new potential collectors, as well as strengthen the convictions of potential sellers. BGANs are transformative. Let’s write about it! Since its introduction, there have been three proposals on-boarding new writers.
Berk gave us all a teaser of what’s to come. “I dunno if it will be successful or not, but it will be historically significant as bgans were I can assure.” It’s unclear if it will incorporate BGANs or not, but it’s interesting and on our radar either way. There have been some discussions on how to better support Berk, since all the royalties for BGAN Punks V2 goes to the DAO. The answer is: collect his other art.

The whole of NFTs is entering this Age of Galleries. In May 888Mooncat was able to get BGANs included in the gallery.so free pass mint, and now we’re seeing the rise of deca.art. Recently, BTC_B4U announced their goal of curating the finest BGAN collection in existence. We may also see Glicpixxx start to gain more traction through this movement as collectors use them as accenting pieces alongside their BGANs.

bgans.eth has worked out a wiiides giveaway. They gave 25 wiiides NFTs away to BGAN holders as a promotion.
Rosco Kalis added liquidity to the BGAN Sudoswap pool giving all of us delusional degenerates more ways to trade BGANs.
Notsofast sold a CryptoPunk, and then immediately started bidding on this HOODIE. On this NSF said, “what got me to part with the OG Punks Hoodie was ‘what if I buy the BGAN HOODIE I really really like.’”
NSF and Satori came to an agreement and set a new ATH BGAN sale! Cheers to you both! This sale created a lot of hype for BGANs, and was the catalyst for a continued wave in sales.

Witribel has started an ARTGLIXXX Eldest high-score contest with 888Mooncat. Wirtebel has this sweet 14th generation. For those unfamiliar with ARTGLIXXX Eldest, they are free to mint for those holding GLICPIXXX, which are free to mint for BGAN holders. Every BGAN has 1 GLICPIXXX and every GLICPIXXX has 1 ARTGLIXXX Eldest. These Eldests generate 10 $GLIX daily and to mint the next generation from the Eldest it costs gen_level*100$GLIX (so a gen 2 cost 200 $GLIX, and a gen 14 costs 1400 $GLIX). Witribel has also been sharing his progress on HYPE AF background removal. This is an important effort to allow all BGAN Punks to be modeled in Voxel and other Meta-worlds.
STRANGLEH0DL came by to JPEG’d pill the Discord. This is a protocol that allows collectors to collateralize their NFTs. There’s a merger of NFTs and DeFi coming to the forefront of crypto meta, and is something we’ll very likely see in the next bull run. The largest obstacle here is getting the asset price up to 20Ξ. Having this objective makes the task seem more obtainable. And remember, the BGAN community came together in a big way for the FloorDAO initiative.

This will be an interesting metric to watch in the coming months. BGANs are really heating up and getting some publicity. Every other collection on FloorDAO’s list has money market capabilities. $PUNK and $WIZARD holders are included in the NFTX Rari Fuse pool, Punks and MAYC are included on JPEG’d, and Milady has call options trading on Cally Finance. The intersection of NFTs and DeFi is on the horizon, and $BGAN is clearly a contender.

Sexas took the initiative to get some Discord bots up and running. He’s gone so far as to host them on a local server. Sexas continues to be an asset to our community. Thank you for your work, ser.
This month saw an influx of community activity and do-gooders, but String beat them all. String was voted BotM for giving away more than 10 BGAN Punks to members in The One Discord.
“People started getting excited about BGANs again, and I wanted to get more people into the community. I did pretty well on some NFTs because of people in that discord so I wanted to give back.”
String has been in the game since 2016 when he first bought BTC so he could buy [REDACTED] on the Internet. “Then I saw a second coin was added to Coinbase called ETH I didn't know anything about it but bought a few since they were only $7 each lol. After that was XRP and then everything started going up a lot and I was hooked.” String says BGAN Punks V2 were the second NFTs he bought, but that he aped pretty hard into them.
String also shared that he’s moving into a new home, so if you catch him in the Discord be sure to say hello. We hope to see him again soon.
