Fren is the first-ever rebasing derivative NFT project. But not just incentivizing anyone to use the chain, specifically members of prized cults who represent the grassroots nature of DeFi. Cults with collective staying power are much more than the sum of their parts. They are a necessary social bedrock and conducive to growing an ecosystem from the bottom up. Beras themselves are a representation of this already, but welcoming other cliques with a biiiig berahug only adds to cumulative social capital.

So… how does Fren fit into all of this?
You can think of Fren as the fertilizer on a giant plot of farmland. The soil is rich on its own, but fertilizer enhances the growing season with external nutrients. The nutrient, in this case, is incentivization for communities with staying power outside of the berasphere. Support from these cults along with the beras amplifies the network effects already in place.

How it’ll work:
Each generation of Fren onboards a new cult. We’re starting with Remilia (giving them free mints alongside Beras). As soon as possible after Berachain Mainnet goes live (which we expect in Q3), all Genesis holders will receive $BERA, claimable through our website UI. Along with claiming $BERA, holders will also receive $FREN. But the amount of $FREN claimable is not linear. The sooner you claim after it’s made available, the larger your allocation of $FREN will be (similar to the distribution mechanism of AIDoge). Claims will remain open for 45 days after each rebase, and any unclaimed supply will be burned. We expect to onboard no more than 5 cults (Genesis collection and 4 rebases), so tentatively 20% of the $FREN supply is dedicated to each. Once 45 days have passed and claims have ended, Genesis holders will vote on which cult to onboard next and then receive a rebase of the next-gen along with more airdrops of $BERA, $FREN, and some other surprises. This model ensures that Genesis holders are not diluted in the slightest.
