Why build DeSchool? The core team of DeSchool, which is mostly made up of active members in SeeDAO, BanklessDAO, FWB, and Mirror DAO, has witnessed a rise in new Web3 users joining DAOs in the last year, but finding it difficult to adjust to the new form of organization. This, coupled with the increasing trend of digital nomadism has left digital nomad communities worldwide in need of new, globally verifiable education and human resources certification systems, that do not require any type of license. In addition, many locals we met in underdeveloped countries are eager to improve their families' lives by learning Web3 skills and finding a job in Web3. It creates the urge for a new form of education, that’s fit for DAO, digital nomad, and Web3 workers.
All of this makes it increasingly clear that we need to reshape the education system in Cyberspace, which is no longer the domain of a few geeks, but also for a diverse range of newcomers who are looking to join Web3 and crypto world.
What makes DeSchool the ideal educational infrastructure for Web3?
DeSchool was built to be a Web3 native, decentralized aggregator for both educational content creators and Web3 learners from day one. The product stemmed from SeeDAO, with over 12,000 members and a mission to connect 1 million digital nomads. DeSchool serves as an infrastructure to reduce the cost of onboarding and precipitating SeeDAO’s content generated by multiple guilds and projects. Eventually, SeeDAO invested and incubated DeSchool, and became one of DeSchool’s strategic partners.
Another strategic partner is Web3 University, which is popular for its dozens of instructors and hundreds of Web3 courses for beginners, but lacked a suitable tool on the market. DeSchool filled this gap, building a platform with NFT Pass and SBT-based proof of educational qualification and graduation system; plus streaming video, Notion courseware and quiz tests. Through this collaboration, DeSchool and Web3 University become one of the most popular Web3 education providers.
DeSchool quickly attracted dozens of resident creators after its official launch in November 2022. It has now partnered with more than 10 Web3 tools to build a Web3 education infrastructure, equipping resident creators with more effective instruments. The long-term goal of DeSchool is to transition from a technology platform to a protocol that is widely integrated by DAO and other Web3 products.
We aim to help more educational content creators and Web3 learners as a decentralized, Web3-native aggregator so they can gain knowledge and build experience on chain.
Over the next six years, DeSchool will not only become the educational infrastructure for Web3, but will also work to develop a cross-border, no license, globally verifiable approach to education and HR certification.
Our core team members are from the US, Australia, and Hong Kong. They include startup veterans, developers from Silicon Valley blockchain startups, and senior product managers.
