Especially since I started earning money for myself and through investing time and money into “crypto” (to simplify the complex world of Blockchains and Web3 dApps), I have wondered what actually entails “working”. Am I considered to be working when I sit 12-14 hours per day from Monday-Sunday in front of a computer, understand & analyze new blockchain business models, invest time and/or money in protocols which I deem have potential to increase said investments, and then put any potential gains into select yield opportunities (which also need to be analyzed and monitored) ? Not to say that those actitivites, being pioneering and high-risk (yes, I also lost a ton of money in the process), contribute to foster and developing a new financial system based on self-custody and self-sovereignity of the individual ?
Or does work, as a basic assumption, require a person to provide a value-added activity to at least another person or entity ? In that case, I would not be working at all. What would it be then that I am doing ?
Not that I care too much, since I have a fulfillfing life with family & friends outside of “work” and do not need to be defined by it. Still, it sometimes make me think…
Thoughts ?
