Last week was a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As projects go, the details included planning a road trip from DC to Myrtle Beach, an overnight hotel stay after 5 hours of driving, and a visit to check out my cousins' new pad in Cary, NC. Guess what, mission accomplished! YEY!
Just saying that this dude can start and finish projects…
So, where does indecisiveness start? In the above example, all parties were on the same page, and there was no tug and pull on what to do. It then came down to planning the trip and paying attention to details. Looking back at our previous vacations, they have all worked as planned. The family was aligned on where to go and trusted my judgment on what to see and things to do. The operative phrase here is “totally trusted my judgment.” I wonder if this was one of the missing elements in the projects I started and did not finish. Food for thought as I tunnel my way into my experiences and reflect on this aspect. Am I always looking for validation before I follow through to the finish line? If this is the case, I wonder what I might have missed if I indeed jumped in with both feet into the murky waters and acted more on intuition, gut, and previous life lessons.
