All aboard the Tower of Terror- a rollercoaster situated in Johannesburg South Africa, with one of the highest G forces in the world. Best be prepared for a treacherous 50ft vertical drop because only the brave will make it out alive.
Much like a courageous thrill seeker, so too have crypto enthusiasts been pushed over the edge into what seems like a never ending freefall and unfortunately, most of us were not strapped in.
Contrary to our portfolios, going up on a roller coaster can be quite scary and going down is excitingly fun, but alongside one another these two can be very similar. The ups and downs are both unavoidable and to be expected. It is in times like these that we need to get a grip on our market related stress.
The first step forward, should be to take a step back. Pay attention to the data, but not so closely that every movement leaves behind a feeling of unease. Emotions can be very powerful, don’t let them have an effect on the rational side of thinking. While following the heard can be beneficial at times, avoiding knee jerk decisions of other investors will save a world of stress. It is time to do the necessary homework, to support our fellow enthusiasts and most importantly, to remain calm.
A second of clarity is all it takes to make a rational decision. If finding an activity to clear the mind is a difficult task, here are a few things I like to include in my weekly routine that help combat stress.
Walking- Around the neighborhood, in a park or even a barefoot stroll in the garden.
Meditation sessions- Sessions are held within the nuggets discord. There are also plenty of free apps downloadable on the app store. The one I use is called Medito.
Getting active- Doing something simple like yoga, running, lifting weights or dancing. Do whatever makes you feel good!
Reading books
Laying in the sun- Vitamin D levels have strongly been linked to mental health.
Getting sufficient rest- Try for 6 hours minimum, a well rested investor is one ready to tackle the day ahead.
Talk to those around you. This space can be extremely distracting, but loved ones should always remain number one priority.
Guts, determination and perseverance have placed each and every one of us into the positions we sit in today. One thing I forgot to mention about the Tower of Terror is that it crashes down into the darkness of a former gold mine shaft. This is where we currently lay, in a world of both treasure and terror. Let us make the most of this opportunity and reignite our flame within.
