I often get AMA requests, questions about my creative process, and more, so put together a little sum-thing.
Iβm not an artist. At least wasnβt one before. Iβm just a regular person trying to keep up with my curiosities. Thatβs how I ended up on Farcaster. Thatβs how I started to play with AI. And thatβs how I come up with ideas, my art is 99% AI, 1% intuitions and curiosities. Good curation also requires good taste, so thereβs that.
I didnβt set out to create Outcasts. It was the PFP I wanted for myself. Cliche but true.
At one point, I was spending a lot of time on Farcaster (best decision ever). Itβs important because the vibes on Farcaster have always been unreal (for a social media). Also read two incredible books, in two days. Read Write Own. The Everything Token. Everything put together, it was enough motivation to build Outcasts into a collection.
The success of Outcasts made me an artist. Again, it was 99% your support, 1% hustle.
Another thing I want to add is, I still donβt understand most things I do onchain, in case thatβs something stopping you. In fact, made this note some time back: "The blockchain/technical part of web3 should become a footnote titled βfor developersβ for mass adoption to happen."
Luckily, the tools are getting better.
My success wouldn't have happened without tools like Farcaster, Base, Highlight, Fabric, and more. When Bezos started Amazon he noted that it was Day 1 for the internet, and, therefore, for Amazon. Three decades later, it remains Day 1. I love this mindset. And it isnβt just Day 1 for the above tools, but itβs also Day 1 for the entire onchain ecosystem. Itβs Day 1 for AI tools too.
Itβs like standing on the shoulders of a giant, but the giant keeps getting bigger, and bigger.
Finally, forgive me for talking about everything but art, but I'm not trained in talking like an artist. All I have are ideas, and I will keep sharing them with you, once again, made possible by your support. And while you wouldnβt like them all the same, but youβll at least love @sum.

fair warning: 100% rough draft vibes π€·ββοΈ
Love it. Keep following your curiosities π
good stuff, great time to be on FC & glad we connected. excited to see where you go
That's good. I'm glad you shared your curiosities! I honestly think some of it is about the connection that others make with the art that is made from someone else's inner thoughts and feelings, in this case curiosities. They connect with it for different reason, possibly not even the same as the artist.
