I reside in Iowa. As sterotypical as it might sound, it’s not the most cutting edge state to live in. With that being said, Web3 isn’t on a lot of radars here. And it wasn’t on mine until I was hired at as a recruiter at Job Mobz. Job Mobz is a recruiting as a service company that specializes on technical roles, which allow us to recruit for many Web3 companies.
If you’re reading this, I’m assuming you know what Web3 is and how the ecosystem operates. This was all new to me when I started at Job Mobz. After my coworkers got me up to speed I quickly became intrigued. I opened my first crypto wallet within the week, purchased a few of the more well known coins, and started my NFT collection! I was hooked.
Fast forward a few weeks, and many YouTube videos later, I learned about utility, what a DAO was and how Web3 could solve real world problems. It was truly one of the most eye opening times of my life.
Now that I understood exactly what Web3 was, I started to connect with people in the space. Twitter was always my favorite social network, which was convenient, because it was also the best place to connect and learn from thought leaders in the space. So initially it was relatively easy. I continued on to Discord and LinkedIn as well which have also been huge in my Web3 journey. One thing I’ve noticed is that if you connect with the correct people in the community, they are always willing to help!
As I mentioned in a previous post, I have always had ideas on how to improve current products or even create new things that solve problems. Some have went places, some haven’t. But the ideas are always flowing(insert rocket ship emoji)
After scrapping a few and adding a few ideas, I came to one that, in my opinion, is worth pursuing. One that marries two of my favorite things. Sports and the University of Northern Iowa!
