In order to strengthen the protection of young people from the dangers of electronic cigarettes, Macau SAR Law No. 13/2022 "Amendments to Law No. 5/2011 "Smoking Prevention and Control System"" came into effect on December 5. The law clearly states that the Macao SAR prohibits the manufacture, distribution, sale, import and export of electronic cigarettes and tobacco products for oral or nasal inhalation, including the prohibition of carrying such products out of and into the Macao SAR. According to reports, offenders will be fined 4,000 patacas, and private entities or the tobacco industry will be fined 20,000 to 200,000 patacas.
