I started building an NFT marketplace (@scatter_art) in 2021, after OpenSea went on a collection delisting rampage. The idea was simple: An artist-first marketplace that won’t delist you. Sounds like a fine idea, and how hard could it possibly be to build?

Turns out it took 5 whole months out of my life to finish, and while we were able to get a nice exit, it isn’t something i’d ever want to go through again. We had to build out every major feature OpenSea had, from the front end, to back end listeners, to on site minting, etc. It was a lot, and there was still a lot to do.
